To gain some popularity Boris has awarded a popular footballer an MBE, he didn't have to manufacture anything with Rashford.
Rashford did his thing and fair play to the lad but fast forward months Boris is now awarding him the MBE for his own purposes, that is how modern politicians work and probably old politicians as well tbh.

Good on him. There will always be inconsistencies with these awards and a bit of party politics but It seems thoroughly deserved to me. Great player and seems a decent human being also. Him and his family should be very proud.

My take on it: some footballer does something good, something that would probably never be recognised if you or I did it. Does that one interjection from an already high profile individual deserve an MBE? Most definetely not! It was undoubtedly a great thing to highlight, but it irks me that if me or you would have suggested this it would never even have even got to parliament. For that reason - I'm out on this one.

I'm sure you agree with his sentiment - and so do I. Yet you feel comfortable that only those that have a priveleged position are deserved of your acclaim? This is where society stuffs up. Why do we pedestal those in priviledged positions to win awards, rather than questioning why it's so easy for them to win such an award? We rarely get our own voices heard - because we're not famous. Time to look into the mirror pal, and realise that perhaps we should all be looking to make 'all' our voices heard - famous or not.Good on him.
