Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

Scousers about 87. Just been beat again by them to contribute towards our relegation . But alas on Clermont Rd they wanted to have it after the game. A little young firm of us "gently pushed them back" into the incoming path of some of city's oldskool koolkats and wow that got sorted very quickly

Best one was blue who thought he was the biggest of bollocks. Always portrayed it at work too.
Wolves at home in the mid to late 90s. The first person to come leading the charge AWAY from their fans was this person. I'll describe him as ginger. Wore glasses.
Whenever this was put to him, about him running away, he said it was tactical
"He who fights and runs away,
Lives to fight another day".

There was a game v WHU when they were all in the Main Stand, the block next to North Stand. They all left with about 10 min left. The police had em all pinned in a side St as we departed for my old mans car on Denmark Rd. Anyone remember what season that was?

Remember a big riot on the forecourt at Maine Road before the Chelsea game 88-89, the Spurs cup quarter in 93, my Spurs mate says it's the most scared he's ever been at a match, their escort was getting continually attacked right back to the station.
I think that Spurs home game was the one where I saw 5 spurs fans getting chased and they all legged into a posh BMW. They thought they were safe but City boys trashed the car before dragging them out to give them a proper twatting. Always been bad blood v them, especially since 81 final games.

City at Maine was very tasty for a lot of firms coming in . I know quite a lot from Leeds and they always said back in the day City were always on it
They tried setting the Shell garage on fire once on Wilmslow road. Then about 50 of them got together and marched towards Maine road all (seemingly) nonchalant and cocky, singing their song 'marching all together'. But little did they know of their imminent fate. Ambushed to leave most of them on the deck, like flat Yorkshire puddings.
Attack by Manc punk band Armed Force seemed an apt tune to ruck; )
"We don't turn away, we don't turn our backs, this is what we do, attack attack attack".

Back to Leeds Rd 3-0 I think I remember varadi getting at leat 1
It poured with rain from start to finish on the open away terrace that night at Leeds rd.2nd replay.
Drenched,but happy.
Two good up runs that year, both ended at quarter final stage by Scousers.

How bad was it after the Coventry game in the cup when goater scored in the last minute and they invaded the main stand?
I remember inside they ran into the main stand and City fans were running over from the Kippax to help out.
Walked past their end after the game and there was just a big semi circle of city fans surrounding it waiting for them to come out. Always wondered what happened when they came out
