Greater Manchester Politics Thread

If it's true that Boris offered £60m rather than the £65m requested then we should be pushing forward with a otev of no confidence.

The man is an idiot. An absolute embarrassment to our country. Even his own MPs disagree with him. Shambles.

I even heard Sir Graham Brady on LBC saying he shouldn't be doing this. The Blue Wall MP's can see the writing on the wall - plenty of them elected in the NW and now this. Teesside is being considered for T3 - Sheffield too - all places that were won and which his handling of this will just rebound on them. When the Brexit bollocks hits in the new year just as we are in the depths of this 2nd wave I'd think your confidence vote suggestion could become reality.

Remember Peterloo you cunts.

I am fucking angry about this, more angry than I have been for a very long time. This is about our city and our people, a city that has some of the poorest areas in western Europe thanks to austerity and the cunts have basically told us to fuck off you manc scumbags, starve you dont vote for us so you dont matter

Step away from the keyboard for 5 Russ and have a brew.

Imagine how much of an utter **** you'd have to be to vote for the Conservatives.

"lend your vote" - have you ever heard such a stupid fucking term? If you give cunts like Johnson, they will take 10 miles. Too bad the next election is 4 years away when those that lent it can have it back

It's such a shame people fell for thier shite back in December.

It will be interesting to see how Johnson's mates in the newspapers reoprt this tomorrow?

On another note. At the end of this month people up and down the country are about to realise the reality of the UK's 'benefit' sysytem and that it isn't all its cracked up to be

Hopefully people will remember next time around. That's all that we have left

Confidence vote in favour of what though? We may as well go back to trying to get through May's deal with d*cks from the 19th century like Reese-Mogg holding the 21st century to ransom.

Maybe it's time to start some Norwegian classes, I can make do with the weather but it's a pity their football is awful!

For the first time in a long time, that's the most I've seen a politician show some passion and actually look like they give a fuck about the working man. Good on you Andy, good on you. Fuck the tory cunts.
Its refreshing to see a politician standing up for whats right, and not waffling like most of the fuckers.
Some of the tories probably arent cunts though.

Burnham has said he wants £15M a month to top up the wages yet then says he needs £90M to last until the end of the year but would settle for £65M?

Thats a hell of a long lockdown if he needs £90M?

End of the financial year not calendar year fella

Burnham made it abundantly clear the money was until the end of the calendar year as tier 3 was very much a short term thing.

Anyway, he should be on the phone right now taking every penny he can get because his battle is over.

I don't think its over at all. There is a ground swell of support for Burnham as people realise it could be there town next to suffer at the hands of these heartless cunts.

I actually think it has the potential to get much worse because Burnham ignited a passion in people today and there will be Tories across the north thinking there days are numbered as MPs unless that fucking clown sorts it out, but he is so fucking arrogant he won't and Thursday night at lockdown time could well see some pretty nasty reaction from people who are fed up to the back fucking teeth of being treated like third class citizens by an out of touch corrupt government that promised to level up and instead is fucking us up. The narcissistic lying cunts days are numbered.

Honestly, this could end up being like the Sun in Liverpool. Can't see the Tories ever being welcome in GM ever again, nor should they be

I can see there being a big protest march or something at the weekend in town. They have already had hostile "welcomes" when they held conferences - this is now a major standoff.

His days are numbered alright but it wont be Burnham that does for him. In 2 weeks time the Tories will fend off the number of deaths and the hit to the NHS in the North West by blaming a Labour Mayor and using the same argument used against them back in the early days of the pandemic.

Burnham got carried away with himself im afraid. Was always getting the extra cash and could have claimed it as a victory after doing the right thing by going into tier 3 lockdown to protect health and the NHS.

I get the opportunity of giving or seeing to give the government a bloody nose but it wasn't the right thing to do.
