Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Manchester City’s opening goal was their 600th goal scored under manager Pep Guardiola in all competitions – they have scored 117 more goals than any other Premier League side since Guardiola took charge in August 2016
That is insane.

No question that now the links for a Barelona return will ramp up - especially among Presidential candidates, not the least of whom is Laporta

Is laporta officially running for the job?

Unclear. There is speculation that Joan may be tempted to join Font in order to avoid splitting the votes and allowing a continuity candidate of Bartomeu/Rosell to win. We'll know for certain soon

Benedito has not fared well previously and has not yet declared, he does not stand much chance

Jordi Roche is effectively a Rosell stooge, Rousaud was Bartomeu's handpicked successor before resigning so I would not trust him either

Jordi Farré led the motion of censure and has a chance but I don't know much about him

Nobody here said that. No offense, but not everything is about bloody Barcelona. You have the messi and garcia threads where you have managed to steer it to mostly about cules and canteras, can you please not hijack this one as well. I get contributing to discussions and responding to others' opinions, but that was literally unprompted and unnecessary.

I don't believe he would go back as a coach of the 1st team - heading up La Masia on the other hand, perhaps
Now why would he do that so early in his career. He is not 60 and irrelevant. He will be coaching a top team for sure

As long as he sees City getting closer to winning the CL and ultimately winning it, I think he'll stay with us. Once we've won it (hopefully!), he'll head off to pastures new. If he thinks our chances of winning the CL are receding, he might go sooner. I don't think he'll want to go back in to the Barca cauldron at present.

If he leaves, he leaves. He has done his bit and if he wants a new challenge then good luck to him.
But if we pull the trigger on him, then that is foolish in the extreme.
The next guy may win us the champions league, but to do that you have to play a brand of football I dislike, in fact I don't even consider it football at all, more on a par with WWE wrestling.
I really enjoy watching my team play, and have done for a decade now. Long may that continue.
Surely you don’t think Bayern are shit to watch?
