I think you raised some good points and we do have to consider the things you have pointed out. I don't want to appear negative but it seems many people are being swept away by the dream of Messi playing for us but he's not super human and time catches up with everyone. Pep admitted this is a more physical league and while many players like Merlin have adapted he wasn't 34 years old. Will a player of his stature accept being rotated he is rightly used to being King Pin will he accept any less at City? Some have mentioned about some players being able to learn from Messi but what happens when the novelty wears off and their arses are parked on the bench. I am uneasy that many of the factors that we would take into account with any other player we were thinking of buying are being brushed aside because it's Messi and if he were in his prime I would too but he isn't. I don't think he is easy to manage, I think it is foreseen by a clause of his contract at Barca that he can play whenever he wants. And on a tactical level, he is used to play wherever he wants on the pitch and it could be a problem.
Furthermore, a decline in the player is evident, testified by the fact that in 2020 he made few open play goals compared to his standards.
I’m still convinced that Messi is still able to deliver moments of "magic", but having him in the team could be a luxury rather than an advantage.
