Our tactics and personal have changed that's why we struggle to break the bus down. Ditch this inverted wingers bollocks and get back to stretching defences and creating a bit of space to work in centrally, and we will see an improvement, carry on as we are and top 4 will be a real struggle.
It plays into the opposition's hands imo, makes everything too narrow which is great for a parked bus as the full backs can really tuck in, it's become a real pattern of our games that there is zero space centrally game in game out, we need to get back to width and create some space inside, wouldn't mind Phil on the left tbh. Cancelo being a right footed LB just adds to the problem of everything coming inside into traffic, does my head in watching it, and it must be easy to defend against.Pep plays the inverted wingers because of control and possession but I’d like to see Sterling on the right and Ferran on the left or at least Pep changes it up in games and switch them.
Well put. My articulation skills have been off the past few days. Can anyone remember the UK broadcasters take, when Sterling tripped over the turf and got a penalty without asking for one, in a CL game? I know the rival fans went on about him being a cheat for weeks after, so they couldn't have defended his corner much. The narrative is always different for City, Silva and Aguero got kicked to peices in their primes and because they didn't get the fouls when they did go down, the narrative was, they go down too easy(so called divers from opposition bell-ends, laughably). Even for tactical fouls or any committed challenges that don't come off, they're calling for yellow cards for us immediately and applauding it for the opposition. It's infuriating how blatant they are with it. They know what they're doing and they know they'll get away with it, time and time again. This gives way to referees applying double standards during games, because their actions are justified by the biased commentary teams.
I've been done with Sky ever since they campaigned for Aguero to receive a retrospective ban, for an elbow that didn't connect, as he flailed his arm back in a tussle against a West Ham player in 2016. The player had his hands in Aguero's face, just before it, so it was obviously a reaction to bat the oppositions arm away from his face, but Sky acted obtuse about that part of it. They went with the reasoning that: "You just can't have your elbow out like that at all, whether you mean it or not". In 2015, Silva had to be taken off the pitch after an elbow to the face(suspected fracture, until he got to hospital), against West Ham funnily enough, the ref saw it, no red card, no outrage from Sly Sports. 4 years after the Sly Aguero campaign, we are still waiting for an example of them doing the same for a United or Liverpool player, who have done much worse and got away with it(Fellani and Mané in particular, have had multiple). They're just bullshitters and anyone who believes that Sly would have done the same for a United or Liverpool player, is as gullible as can be. That was all about getting Aguero sidelined for the upcoming derby. The broadcasters have way too much influence on football and we know who their favourites are.
A lot of fans just repeat what they hear on sky or read in the paper, including a lot of the doom mongers on here. As I said earlier, they built up the Mourinho is better than Pep narrative in the week leading up to the game, there were articles, debates across social media ect all with a heavy Mourinho slant. It's all very deliberate, fuelling the tribal bullshit. Whoever lost that game, was in for a rough ride this week, they made sure of it.
A very frustrated post and one that the majority of City fans have an understanding of.Can anyone remember the UK broadcasters take, when Sterling tripped over the turf and got a penalty without asking for one, in a CL game? Yep, they had a big part in getting clubs to agree to the creation of the Premier League too. I'm sure everyone's read about Gregg Dyke and Rick Parry's part but nobody should overlook the broadcasters part in it. The 'big sky 3' was part of their design, they created those new super rich clubs in the 90s, it's what they wanted. The big boss wanted to buy United and got blocked, towards the end of the 90s, due to a conflict of interest.A very frustrated post and one that the majority of City fans have an understanding of.
One thing I would add is that Sky, and other worldwide broadcasters, actually own the PL and get to decide on how things work. They not only get to have huge influence on the PL, they also have control of the referee‘s who are outside of the FA and exclusively owned by the PL.
So, if you can control the league, and control the narrative during and after viewing, you have the ability to not only set the tone but also dictate the play.
And, that’s before you have a gambling syndicate, SkyBet, on the side.
I guess your definition of a Pep outer is someone who’s voicing some doubts or being critical? Unfortunately the view from your arsehole isn’t very clear.
I'm sure you're not alone in those experiences. The media have made City's owner, managers, players and fans fair game for any sort of hostility.Well put. My articulation skills have been off the past few days.
I remember the elbow on Dave, it was assault. He properly nailed him. They sky said he couldn’t avoid it cos Silva is just so small. Bollax. They’re horrible cunts, and they’re making it far too easy for other fan bases to have a go at us blues.
This is killing off the friendly rivalry among mates for me. Cos there’s just too much needle in it now. Can’t get involved in a footie chat without being called a cheat or someone questioning my moral standing regarding human right
etc.
I had someone I’ve known for years verbally attack me back in august because Bernardo didn’t clap enough for their liking during the guard of honor months before when they came to our place last season.
It got very personal very quickly before I even realised what was going on. Trying to explain that I have no bearing on the actions of a Portuguese millionaire who lives in another city in another country, didn’t seem to register. This is just one instance of many that I’m just so sick and tired of.
And it all stems from media bias, and perception being the absolute truth in these very fucking shallow times.
The same person started another row saying Melwood was up there if not better than the Ethiad campus... oh the furlough was just a joke she tells me; they never let anyone go or intended to take the money blah blah blah.
You just have to laugh, though it’s getting harder and harder.
She also told me Liverpool pay their women’s team the highest wages in women’s football cos they’re a top team with great backing. I reminded her it was until quiet recently that the liVARpuddle women’s team would wear the men’s hand me downs on match day.
It’s gotten to the point I refuse to engage with her on all football matters these days. she just regurgitates the sky sports 15min news reel and the back page of the sun.
I was scolded another time, for bringing the Sun newspaper into it. It was very disrespectful of me to suggest a pool fan would read the Sun after how they’ve treated the families of the 96....
The double standards and how the red twats believe it to be true and worthy of their standing, is almost funny if you’re watching on, as an outsider capable of viewing with any impartiality.
You just have to laugh.Last 3 matches between City and Spurs:
City: 71 shots, 21 on target, 2 goals
Spurs: 9 shots, 7 on target, 6 goals
Horse >boltedThink we should have a Pep in or out poll, could be closer than we think
Oh is this the bit where you pretend no one wants Pep out and it's just people being mean about doubters?
Read the Pep performance thread, the post-match thread, there are plenty of people who have explicitly said they want Pep out, he shouldn't have been given an extension and he's "yesterday's man", "done at the top level" and "has been found out" (actual quotes).
That is a very stark stat. I hope it was all down to bad luck?I saw these stats earlier, sorry if it's already been done:
You just have to laugh.
Lots of posters are venting, not surprisingly when Pep explicitly said he would only extend if he deserved it and then kills optimism with another shit show straight afterwards.
In most instances (with exceptions) that’s NOT the same as saying Pep out now. No more than lambasting the team in a post-match thread amounts to ordering a rag or dipper kit for Xmas. It’s saying people are frustrated and exasperated, that we are underachieving, that Pep’s currently floundering for answers and, yes, there are genuine doubts that his City career may have peaked. No doubt there’s also an element of backlash on a few sanctimonious individuals who have preached Pepal infallibility and others who think we should be grateful for anything that doesn’t look and smell like a turd.
Surely you can see this even though, as a loyalist, you currently feel hurt?
If you polled how many would terminate Pep’s contract right now, there would be a small number. If you asked whether the jury’s out, the number would be larger. That’s why I asked you and @Akpowell what your poll questions would be. Neither of you answered.
Most of us will carry on as City fans do: watch how things work out and alternate between elation and annoyance, optimism and pessimism.
So your poll questions are....?I'm talking about people who are explicitly saying they want Pep out, or he's done and we need to move on, or that we made a massive mistake extending his contract.
I explained that pretty thoroughly, but you still think I'm complaining about normal criticism or venting because you're trying to pretend there isn't a group of users who actually want Pep out.
So your poll questions are....?
Ha. Pep out when? Now? End of season regardless? Review at end of season? You’ve not even thought it through.Keep Pep beyond this season, Pep Out.

Bluster all you like. He‘s just signed an extension and is going nowhere immediately, whether he polls zero or 100%.Why the fuck would a definitive, make-a-judgement-now vote have an option for reviewing at the end of the season?
It's already implied from "Keep Pep beyond this season" that Pep Out means either now or at the end of the season or anywhere in between.
The point, as was stated in the original post you abusively replied to, was to get people calling for Pep Out, saying he was done, saying the club fucked up by renewing on record, so they had to stand by their opinion and not just melt away and pretend they never doubted him like we saw in 2017.
