It's been 5 games. I wouldn't pop the champagne just yet.Interesting that you've brought them up when they've handled losing their centrebacks way better than we did. They adapted. We didn't.

I don't get what your point is. You're asking me if Klopp should change his entire approach because they lost their first choice centrebacks. The question might make sense if they weren't level at the top of the table.
It's a result driven business. If you've spent a year underperforming then you should consider adjusting your approach. If you're top then there's no need. Pretty straight forward.
No but he should have altered things slightly to compensate for losing our centre halves, surely?Well if you refuse to accept that losing Laporte, Stones, Sané for the whole season and Aguero for the important bit might have had an effect on results last year then I guess there's no point carrying this on.
Fortunately Pep's not going to throw away his winning formula because he had an unlucky season with injuries.
Alter things like going to 3 at the back to compensate? Or going from 433 to 4231?No but he should have altered things slightly to compensate for losing our centre halves, surely?
Klopp has, hence they are still the side to beat in the title race, last season we capitulated instead

There is literally no way you can interpret my comment to mean that.So you're saying our physio team aren't always exceptional then? Interesting.
Me too. He is a top talent, for sure.Putting the dick measuring comp to one side......
I hope Phil gets a start in midfield tonight.

They're current points puts them on target for 83 pts this season, and since losing VVD they've conceded 6 in 7 games. Very similar to our totals last year.
They also needed to adapt, and the injury to VVD is arguably a blessing. I saw a graph the other day of average goals conceded by City and Liverpool since Pep took over. Ours is actually pretty static - a nice drop after the first few months when he adapted his game for England, and only minor ups and downs since.
Liverpool were all over the place in comparison. A drop when VVD arrived, and more ups and downs, but then a big leap not long after the half way point in last season (when they still needed plenty of wins to be sure of the league, and were still in the FA Cup and CL). Their average goals conceded doubled and has only really started returning to something more reasonable over the last half dozen league games.
I just prefer watching us when Phil plays.Of course i recognise the need for rest/rotation (despite what the boss says) but i'm always disappointed when i see him on the bench.Considering pretty much the entire first team played 90 mins at the weekend and we've got the derby coming up then I'd be stunned if he didn't.
This is the first time I've ever looked forward to European games more than domestic ones. I know I'm talking prematurely because the group was pretty weak and god knows what will happen once we're in the knockouts but I've got a good feeling this season. Pep's even been talking us up in public this time.
If we do go far then I'm sure Phil will have a big part to play in it, as he did last season.

The kid excites, and we no longer have many that do that.
You've just admitted that our season last year was completely derailed by injuries. We must have had a really shit physio team back then because we obviously have a brilliant one this year since we have a fully fit squad? There is literally no way you can interpret my comment to mean that.
No Foden No Party. I've said it a few times in this thread. His inclusion not only makes games more entertaining but he is a class player that more often than not makes the team better.I just prefer watching us when Phil plays.Of course i recognise the need for rest/rotation (despite what the boss says) but i'm always disappointed when i see him on the bench.

But you want to praise our physios this year because we have no injuries? You can't have it both ways. You can't praise them when we're injury free and praise them when we have injuries (your logic not mine. I prefer judging them on individual players but you don't like that).Only a complete simpleton would assume we had several long term injuries because we had bad medical department.
