United (A) Post Match Thread

Very solid, and I’m not opposed to a more pragmatic approach, however it doesn’t help when Kev has a shocker and Raz & Mahrez don’t perform.
Come on pal with that comment you must have watched it on the radio.Thought Kev played some incredible passes today and his work rate was amazing right up to the last minute. You forget his brain works faster than most players.

A bore draw yes but lots of teams now play this way !. Happy for City to play this way but I would like to see a right footed winger on the right wing and a left footed winger on the left. To see both wingers running at the full backs and cutting back low dangerous crosses.
Both wingers just cut in every time playing into an all ready crowd area.
If City are going to be more defensive we need to be quicker in attacking.

Probably in a minority here so apologies but that's a point more than I thought we'd get today. Was sure the outcome would be dictated by commercial interests and revenue-streams.

Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the weekend lads and lasses.

Ive calmed down a bit and looking back at the game, once again Pep has been let down by shit finishing. Pep can't stick the ball in the net for them, defensively we look stronger and Pep seems to have resolved some other issues we had. He was a lot more passive today and the prime aim was to not lose but we created two good chances and we missed both. Score tehm and we are wanking ourselves over a Pep masterclass.

We need to buy a goal scorer.

Your last sentence is the nail on the head , Aguero has been brilliant for our club but he cant stay fit , if your main striker is missing 20 games a season we have got a big problem , Jesus is a tryer and a poacher but his all round contribution to the team sadly isnt good enough, would normally say give him time but clubs, managers and players dont get time anymore , instant success are the watch words.
In January i would go all in for Haaland , ive watched him a few times and he is a hungry bastard at the right age , and finishes chances for fun.

Mahrez & Sterling stunk the place out but only one of them got hooked off. Foden should be putting in a transfer request if he can't get on with Sterling putting in a shit performance like that. We looked better as soon as Mahrez went off, he has put in two performances against shit teams and is now reverting to type.

Rodri was poor IMO also.

Defensively we were pretty good apart from Walker giving away the pen, we got lucky that it was just offside in the build up.

Gutless from Pep. Not to use any more subs or try and change it is almost criminal. The rags & dippers were both there for the taking and he's bottled both games. The football he has the team serving up this season is boring. Most games we might have 70% possesion but a large part of that is sideways & backwards passes with hardly any chances created at the end of it. It's not good enough currently with the resources at his disposal.

Sterling shouldn't be near the first team at the moment imho, he's simply terrible, Mahrez gets constant stick, but he's performed better than Sterling recently.
It is a mystery what has happened with Sterling. He had a great start to last season, form dipped around November and then returned to form post lockdown lifting his goal count, when everything was decided, and against a lot of the weaker sides. This year he has been very poor.

Every game he seems to play within himself, recycling the ball inside, rather than making things happen and this is amplified against the better sides.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of his goals and who he scored them against. Great players like Aguero score them in the biggest of matches, in derbies, against Liverpool, Chelsea, Cup finals, title deciders etc. Not sure he has ever stepped up consistently in this way.

Boring game and came down to what I thought, i.e. if we convert more shots on goal than they manage to dive in our box, we'll win.

Couldn't hit a barn door today and thankfully they were rarely even near our box.

Didn't stop the ref trying to award them one though, should probably be thankful as he's the same guy who gave them one after the full time whistle earlier this season.

No it doesn't, it suggests he was left out for tactical reasons, why do you think every fucker automatically thinks like you...
You’re the one who started this little tête-à-tête by dismissing my opinion with, and I quote a “big fucking yawn!” So maybe look a little closer to home before taking the moral high ground.
I worry that two players who I think are passionate about playing for City (one a lifelong supporter and the other somebody who has come in and gets us) are being sidelined because of the managers vanity. They are both better than numerous players who start ahead of them in my humble opinion.

I'd agree with you in a lot of cases mate but my point is against some teams the balance of risk is way too much against us. We keep getting beat by these teams on the counter so in this case, risks LOSE games/points. Case in point today we gained 1 point more than last season.
I just begrudgingly can,t agree mate cos they were there for the taking

Confirms what I thought,Pep does not take the derby seriously, utter shite, cant beat a pub team, let off with that penalty fiasco, truly woeful Pep morphing into Maureen, pissed off....

when did we last score a late winner? Seems like yonks ago, used to do it when we won the league in 17/18 and 18/19 but have stopped doing it now.

How can you be let off when it was offside?

Defensive we look very strong.

This is something of a transitional phase-and 84 points may be enough this year.
