Raheem looks shattered. Today he had three great chances to run into the box at pace but chose to pass the ball sideways. He needs a break from football. This crazy season is killing our players. Some of them will never recover. I wonder how many games he has played in the last three seasons for City and England. He and Bernardo have been driven into the ground with KDB not far behind. It is painful to watch.

Probably less than soon to be 36 years old Ronaldo and Messi. The bloke upfront for Bayern is about 33 and plays every week too.

Bernardo has had plenty of time not playing since football resumed

Playing in Italy for Juventus or in Germany for Bayern is like a practice session most of the time. You can't compare the intensity of the PL with these countries. Lots of players get burned out in England and our clubs have a pretty crap record in the CL for the same reasons. It is not a level playing field compared to other countries.

True but he has never looked the same since his five-trophy winning season for City and Portugal in 2018/19. He has never been a lazy player. He's a workhorse but he still looks shattered to me. What else could be the problem? He is a fantastic technical player.

Another player who's confidence is at rock bottom , he scores goals that are put on a plate for him but he contibutes nothing else , he is playing exactly like he did when Pellegrini was manager , takes the easy option every time , can't believe we have so many of our big players so out of form , when Gundogan is winning MOTM plaudits for fun , we are struggling.

Good job he didn't rest him today though eh?!

Pep himself has disputed this and I believe he has a point, after all he's done the English,German and Spanish gigs so he's got a valid opinion.

This is going to sound harsh but Sterling has been shit, it's like he purpously runs balls into areas and then loses the ball, he refuses to shoot when presented with a chance.

He's that bad at the minute I'd sell him in the Jan window, and believe me I have always supported him through thick and thin on here.

Juventus have won nine titles in a row and Bayern eight in a row. In Spain it's a bit better with 15 out of the last 16 titles won by Barca or Real. Whatever Pep says the facts speak for themselves. It is a stroll for Bayern, Juventus, Barca and Real (perhaps not this season) in domestic football. These clubs save their energy for the CL and they get winter breaks. Burn-out is only a problem in England and always has been. That's why English teams have won so few Champions Leagues. That said if we get a good price I would sell Sterling because he has been brilliant in the past but won't get any better in the future.

It is for sure no stroll for Bayern - especially not this season. The only easy match this season was against Schalke at MD1. The new players have not settled in because of late purchases and the lack of preparation. And injuries in midfield did not make it easier as there is seldom chance to just let the ball move.

And running for results after going down 0:1 every match does not make it easier.

Thought he was pretty decent. His movement running in behind is still absolutely world class, even if he’s not always decisive enough when he receives the ball.

Thought he’d overplayed it for the first goal but it was a great pick out for Gündy in the end
He gets in so many good positions but is so wasteful. He wants too many touches in the opposition penalty area. It worked for the 1st goal but he was in the exact same position another 3 or 4 times during the game and failed to deliver. He then missed another open net from a yard. He is very frustrating to watch.

At the end we could only attack down 1 side (the right) cos Sterling keeps fucking off from his position into the congested middle.
At one point Ake came out with the ball and looked in front of him for Sterling, who had for some reason gone and man-marked Aguero.
The cynic in me thinks he sometimes goes into the middle for a breather by standing next to one of the opposition so he,s not available to receive the ball.
We need more from you Raheem. You do bits that are good but i can see the same bad habits in every game you play these days

Looked really dangerous on the right, moved to the left and instantly stopped looking a threat. If ever there was a single game to sum up sterling's game on each wing it was today. Pep can surely see the difference can't he?
