Truss appointees as non-exec directors of the Department of International Trade include Dominic Johnson, the CEO of Rees-Mogg's investment firm, and Douglas Carswell (Tory MP who jumped ship to UKIP) who's a Singapore-on-Thames fan.
 
I expect they will use the chaos early next year coupled with the rising death toll from the 3rd wave of deaths that the relaxation they insist upon to be used for a very important ruse. That will be an attempt to postpone the Local Govt elections in May 2021. That will be an opportunity for the country to pass verdict on Johnson and his bent, corrupt and inept efforts - could be their worst showing ever and you can bet they will start looking at ideas of how they can kick the can down the road and not hold them.

I'm considering writing to my MP and - against all my better instincts - PROMISING him my vote, , if the party replace Boris and his mob and give us a coherent, steady approach to COVID. People are at their wit's end from being dangled on a piece of string, and this is just going to get worse next year.

Furlough was great for a lot of people, and has at least lessened the economic damage of the pandemic. The Government deserve credit for it, but always felt like Sunak got undue plaudits though. It obviously wasn’t his personal call, and it’s unforgivable the way nearly 3m self-employed have received virtually no support from the government. His absolute refusal to even acknowledge the plight of those people is a disgrace. Just look at his voting record as an MP. A sheep in wolf’s clothing.
