But how many chances has Mane missed compared to Sterling. I have always been a Sterling fan but Mane is a much better all-round striker (not least for his heading ability)

Yes he always misses sitters and will most likely continue to do so but as for the tap in claim.. he’s simply better at putting himself in that position than anyone else in the league and has been for a few seasons. It’s a gift he has.. not a gift given to him.

Yesterdays winner was a prime example of this. Rewatch it.. and look at Sterlings movement.. three players in the box.. both Bernie and Torres do the obvious and try to get behind the Saints defenders.. Sterling reads the space, checks his run to create space... allowing Kev to cut back.

You are wrong mate. Once he gets over this bump in his career he will revert back to scoring one in two easy chances as opposed to one in 4 and will return to being one of the most effective forwards in Europe. He will never be a “just needs one chance” forwards like Aguero. He is what he is but his movement in the box is second to none.

His goalscoring form has dipped, hopefully yesterdays goal will have eased the burden and he will start knocking them in more regularly now.
Sergio missed a few good chances before he got injured if you recall.
I feel that we will start to score more goals more regularly now.
Building on the solid defence.

In all fairness after the first goal, Palace were the better team but decided to follow the city form of attack and screwed up 3 sitters the two dipper full backs were having a mare. Mane scores the second after Cahill fails to clear the ball and Palace down tools.
But come on all city fans should have a soft spot for Palace, oh the tears ;-)

I certainly do, oh what a night! Similarly Mourinho with Chelsea and that brilliant man Demba Ba!
 
Just watching premier league years 18/19. We’ve only played 13 games. After 20 games that season we were 7 points behind. I’ve never had chance to see that or reflect on it. Now that I have I hope it provides some perspective to those throwing the towel in already. City come good in the new year and we are well in the Title race. So pull your fingers out, stop moaning and get behind the fucking blue boys!!!

Technically we cannot get behind the team and fans are irrelevant this season but I get your point about previous seasons ;)

We were 8th after 11 games in 2013/14 as well, just like this season.

And if we win the game in hand, we'll be 3rd after 14 games 5 points off the top, just like in 2013/14.

I used to, until they tried to cripple Kevin during the 0-0 that ended our 18-game run of wins.

Vinnie didn’t win SPotY, as it’s for British sportsmen and women, though he might have won the overseas award.
