It's only baffling if you're simplminded and have zero ability to recognize what is happening.
Care to enlighten us?It's only baffling if you're simplminded and have zero ability to recognize what is happening.
Course they will. Not very often, but occasionally there will be a new regulation or product standard that will benefit industry in the EU to the detriment of UK industry. As members we would have pushed back and made sure we weren’t disadvantaged but now we’ll just have to suck it up or accept tariffs on the affected products should we decide to not go along with it.Which we won't disagree with, so I fail to see the issue.
You don't expect the EU to create regulations on standards that we in the UK would need to disagree with, do you? I'm sure the Canadians and Japanese, for example, have that same level of trust.
It's their trade union, so it's their standards.
But why would the EU ever do such a horrid thing? They never have before.Course they will. Odd take. I'm sure most of the prominent leavers on here were openly saying no-deal was their preferred outcome only a few days ago? Can't speak for other remainers, of course, but I presume like me they were hoping for a deal because it's obviously a less damaging outcome.I’d say the only people truly disappointed on here are the remainers.
My god you lot are like a broken record.
Maybe because it's Christmas and they're thinking that Nige might be a tad downcast, so their compassionate instincts have kicked in.Why on earth the remainers are now disappointed on behalf of farage I’m not sure.
You're right, we're getting ahead of ourselves, blondie may appear on tellyI'm not sure what the arguments are about to be honest. From my perspective, does what we know about this deal make it a better outcome than no deal?
Yes.
Do we know enough yet to decide if the deal is in favour of one party or the other or as I hope, a balanced deal that leaves both sides feeling positive about the outcome?
No.
Should we not wait for details before we kick lumps out of each other?
Now you’re being silly. But why would the EU ever do such a horrid thing? They never have before.
You make it sound like we were constantly at odds with what the EU was doing.
We left 11 months ago so remaining would be a bit difficult. You're right, we're getting ahead of ourselves, blondie may appear on telly
telling us he's decided to remain, so let's wait and see.
Just about sums it up. One was going to crack open the champagne and at least two others had their fingers crossed for No Deal. Most are now declaring satisfaction with the deal without knowing the details. You have to laugh.Odd take. Why, as an independent country, would we accept their changing rules that benefit them? If independent arbitration has been agreed, that's where anything like this goes, and it looks like we have helped make the rules, if there has been a deal agreed.
I'm not sure thats very likely but it would seem at least we avoid the consequences of no deal and if the mood music is correct it actually sounds quite balanced in terms of what we went in to get. Whilst you know what I think about remain or leave, if at least he can satisfy those that voted for Brexit then that is a good outcome compared to what it could have been. I would prefer this to Brino as that would have been a constant knife in the guts for those of us that never wanted to leave and would have been hated by those that voted for Brexit. You're right, we're getting ahead of ourselves, blondie may appear on telly

In the eyes of many leavers ( not just the Brexit nutters) this leaked deal is not preferable to a no deal.I'm not sure what the arguments are about to be honest. From my perspective, does what we know about this deal make it a better outcome than no deal?

My point about him remaining was flippant, but all this has dragged on for nigh on 5 years, so anything can happen, even now. Everything else you say, I have no problem with at all, let's hope what we're hearing is fact.I'm not sure thats very likely but it would seem at least we avoid the consequences of no deal and if the mood music is correct it actually sounds quite balanced in terms of what we went in to get. You may well be correct. I'm trying to be optimistic until proven otherwise. :-)In the eyes of many leavers ( not just the Brexit nutters) this leaked deal is not preferable to a no deal.
They would have preferred a no deal because in their long term view this would have more easily allowed the UK to innovate in the fields of automation, robotics, high tech stuff etc and not be hindered by EU rules and regulations which under this deal we are still aligned with.
You may well be correct. I'm trying to be optimistic until proven otherwise. :-)
