I think we’ve said all along matching EU employment rights will be the minimum that can be expected from the UK.
But I’m not sure how much that really matters when we already have companies today that flout the law, and they tend to employee people who are vulnerable to immediate and significant problems should they lose their jobs so they know they won’t speak out about it firstly for fear of losing their job for grassing and secondly for fear of the company going tits up and them losing their job.
Tell that to the British Gas employees who've been told that they now have to work a 37 hour week , plus travelling time of an hour a day (making 42 in total at no extra pay) .... and had their holidays reduced.
..................or be sacked. Theres no way the Tories will match EU rules unless its written into UK legislation (which is why they didnt do it in the first place)
