Everton (A) | Game Postponed

Reaction from this person here speaks volumes on how swiftly some jump to conclusions, particularly if it "appears" to favour richer clubs, and certainly if our club's name is involved.

Meanwhile even the Daily Mail reporting Mourhino "mocking" the PL with some posts on Instagram about the game being postponed.

Very classy of Mourhino just after the UK has announced 981 deaths. Just what you would expect from him. His posts on Instagram may come back to haunt him. He is a great advert for our sport.

Maybe I’m forgetting something but I simply can’t seem to remember the media and pundit outrage on City’s behalf, and sympathy from rival fans, when we had to travel and play overseas three weeks later than everyone else during the summer, but were only given one week later than everyone else to start this season. And that was after playing more games than any other club following the restart.

Some comedy gold over on Rag Cafe, their thread on why the Everton games was postponed.

It takes a special kind of fuckwit to think the way some of them do.
Trevor Sinclair took down the Everton view in the most articulate way possible on Talkshite yesterday. He more or less said that any normal organisation would have sent its best wishes for a speedy recovery to those who have been afflicted by this terrible pandemic. Everton deserve hanging out to dry for this.

Stay Safe

* City’s response when the home game v Arsenal was postponed in March, 2020 -

"The decision to postpone tonight's game has been taken as a precautionary measure on medical advice, after it emerged that personnel from Arsenal FC have come into contact with the Olympiacos owner, Evangelos Marinakis, who has been named as a positive case of COVID-19.

Manchester City FC wishes Mr. Marinakis a speedy recovery, and further information will follow in the coming days about the rescheduled arrangements."

* Spurs this afternoon, 3 hours before the game was postponed -
“Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur sends their best wishes to Fulham for a safe and speedy recovery to all those who are affected." .

* Back to this season`s first PL C19 postponement (Newcastle v Villa a month ago), Sky reported that, “Newcastle have been unwilling to reveal the exact numbers or identities of those affected.” Sky are a disingenuous organisation at the best of times but even they must understand that there is such a protocol as patient and medical confidentiality. Villa went on to wish all well at Newcastle.

* Everton`s public statement displayed their disappointment and expressed regret about the big matchday not going ahead, and said they would request “full disclosure” of the information that led to the postponement. This was under a pretense of not understanding the reasons why at a time of national crisis and rising rates of C19.

The Moyes proclaimed `Peoples Club` could not have judged this more badly. It seems they have lost their common touch.

Twat on left not even watching the game

The UK has chosen to mirror it. Just as a side issue - during the UK membership of the EU (and its incarnations from the Common Market), the mammoth number of EU/EEC Directives the various Tory governments signed us up to (and indeed gold-plated some) usually involved the UK implementing these Directives via UK laws, regulations and statutory instruments. One example - under previous UK law you could pass your driving test in a Mini or Morris Minor and have full legal authority to drive a gigantic mobile crane on UK roads (made no road safety sense whatsoever). In 97, the UK was forced, via an EU Directive, to amend its domestic legislation to require anyone wishing to drive a mobile crane to pass a HGV test. Sorry to go off-topic......
.. re off topic.

My recollection is when you passed your manual car driving test pre 97 it included vehicles up to 3.5 tons above which a HGV licence was required.

I am no expert but believe you can still drive a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes on a car licence, so little changed in this respect.

The difference seems to be light lorries have been replaced by large vans.

Not just Mourhino. Others too.

At least Big Sam spoke out to say there are more important things than football and money. Scousers seem to disagree. The Everton response was a disgrace and exposed the Liverpool entitled, blameless, victim mentality.

Pre 1997 a car licence allowed you to drive a HGV upto 7500kgs GVW.
Hence most non HGV trucks had a GVW of 7490kgs to ensure they were under the 7.5tonnes weight.
And yes I was an expert on this sort of thing as I was a truck salesman from1979 -2001.

No, when you passed your test and got your full licence before 97 you were given entitlement to drive small/medium sized lorries up to 7.49 tonnes (Cat C1) and 9 - 16 passenger seat minibuses (not for hire or reward) - Cat D1. Pass your test from 97 onwards and you only have entitlement to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes - have to pass additional tests to drive larger vehicles.

Until 97, mobile crane drivers who had entitlement to drive these gigantic vehicles on the strength of a car licence, lost that automatic entitlement and had to pass a HGV test in a HGV (not a van) to continue driving them. The features of even a small HGV are much much closer to those of a mobile crane than an ordinary car - hence the skillset is similar. Most HGV drivers passed their test in a substantially smaller lorry than the lorries they drive for a living.

Or could have given their players the virus that they’d be counting their own 14 for their next fixtures
Spot on bud. Disgusting behaviour and they should be ashamed. Virus out of control and they want to play a game of football. Did they actually believe that they could win something... deluded just like their vermin friends across the rd.

Some absolute drivel in the usual places, Dave from Dublin who’s a big Scouser says we’re bending the rules, cheating, having a rest etc etc. Who am i to argue with that? Let’s not forget it adds to the already packed fixture list that we already have, fuck me. If the bubbles compromised and you don’t have a fucking clue who has the virus and who doesn’t, I’d say it’s pretty common sense to not play the game, until you can identify who has what. Thick cunts
