Is corruption becoming more obvious or is it just supporters moaning about their team not winning. Last night's penalty given to Pogba seems a good as any place to start. Are referees involved in some sort of game control to fix matches. Why were no premier league referees invited to the last major tournament. I would love to hear from anyone who has proof of corruption not just hearsay.

YES as for proof we all saw yet again with our own eyes yesterday. What other explanation can there be ? A slight tangle of legs with the help of VAR saw it as a pen. Since VAR the cheating has become more obvious but no one will speak out because they want jobs within the industry

Pisses me off when people dismiss claims of corruption because occasionally we get a dodgy decision or a penalty or that we win games.

the real corruption is deep and English football is rotten to the core, you have no further to look that the two red cheeks of the same flatulent arse. How can they be allowed to screen a PL executive?? That alone proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, who pulls the strings.

It all comes down to money, the biggest money spinners have the most power, t’was ever thus and sadly that ain’t us.

There is corruption in politics, business etc so why not football where there is so much money. You only have to look at who has been the PFA leader for the last 39 years with no sign of any change despite the guy now being 76. Same for most of the UEFA / FIFA power leaders. Brown envelope bungs is nothing new, dodgy agents etc yet no journalist seems to want to expose anything. In years to come someone will have the guts to bring it all down but it will be a long time.

It’s simple, the fairy tale that is the premier league needs a happy ending. That way overseas cash continues to flood into the game. Given the financial impact of covid, what better way of topping up the coffers than to have the Rags and Dippers at the top, a reward perhaps from the newly endorsed chief exec.

The game at the top is rotten, VAR is a shambles, punditry is abysmal, referees are inconsistent and football on social media is generally a cesspit of humanity.
As a result, supporting city has become less of a pleasure and more of a chore, regardless of results.

Whatever the relative merits of cricket, tennis and rugby they all embrace technology in an open and fair way. The reviews are transparent and every spectator knows how a decision is made. The difference with var is staggering. It is about tv revenues and protecting the old guard. Stretford have useful forwards but their midfield is averagely thuggish with mediocre keepers. Now they're challenging for the title. Always helps when you can foul the opposition with impunity and know your friends in black will prove compliant when things get sticky.

Its easy to call out corruption in the third world but you're mad if you think UK is squeaky clean. Phone hacking mps expenses insider trading tax avoidance. The rich are rich because they exploit others but the chasm between the haves and have nots has never been wider. If you're wealthy and powerful you protect your own. Hence FFP and the nonces nine. PIGMOB are notoriously secretive and would appear to accountable to no one. Good governance has nothing to hide but the FA have got fruit up their arse.

And the reason journalists won't call it out is because they earn a good living riding the football gravy train
Exactly! Anyone who takes a sports journalist seriously these days needs a doctor.

fucking parasites stealing a living and they know if they rock the boat they lose their job.

don’t forget there’s proof of that already

When Livarpool and the Rags play each other, the entire football world will implode in on itself.

There’s no excuse with VAR, in the past it was speed of the game, you can’t even blame a hostile atmosphere & when you put all the media spin & contrary opinions then it’s corruption in plain sight.
Don’t even hide it.

my concern is I’m sure you could win a case to prove it, as we did when pressed.

very clever how the media can’t create an argument between the teams getting fcked. It’s like proxy wars ?

every battle is on behalf of rags & dippers but they may not be involved.

Corruption has always been involved with football in this country but was always in the shadows, now it is in plain sight. Watching a clip from the game last night where Shaw runs into the box with the ball and a Villa defender comes to challenge. Shaw overruns the ball out for a goal kick. Pogba who is nearest rag player to Shaw then gestures that Shaw should have gone down. Question I have is what would make a player suggest that course of action? Answer in my opinion is that due to the precarious financial position the rags are in they need to win the league to achieve some of sponsorship bonuses that they will have tied up in the respective sponsors contracts. The premier league wants to keep the rags relevant to maintain and further exploit the global brand of the league are complicit in pressuring the PIGMOL officials (who they interestingly pay for) to officiate the rags differently to other sides. Hence the soft penalties and the fact that their players can foul with impunity without receiving cautions.

There are people in the media who are I'm sure aware of this 'arrangement', but know calling it out would have a detrimental effect on their careers as there is an awful lot of journalists making a good living off the back of the premier league. Just my humble opinion but we all remember Mr Scudamore's quote, 'a successful Man utd is key to the success of the premier league'.

Sly have ruined every sport they got involved in. Starting back in the Don King days with the heavy weight boxing division. Then the Rugby.. Now the Football. Its short term gain. Football is getting crushed by greed. Been a fan since the early 60s but its time to let go. Its a fuckin soap opera.

if anyone had proof, the ref would be out. The problem is proof is v hard to get. Corrupt decisions are covered up by “interpretation” of rules. VAR hadn’t helped

Just seen the rag penalty and if anyone was unsure about VAR applying the ethics of corruption to aid the premier league brand - you shouldn't be any longer

Total fix

What was it scudamore stated all those months ago.....well VAR is allowing a season to now be dictated in a narrative they want
