So not as bad as rumoured but still a fucking plank.

The people having " just" a couple of people round is why this fucking country is still in this shit (and the fucking pathetic excuse for a government).

There's just been an outbreak in the city squad, mendy could be a carrier and not be testing positive or showing symptoms yet or his Mrs. The two that came in could be contagious be and not know it.

This bullshit is passed off as, ah but it was new years and it was just a couple. Thing is, this happened exponentially up and down the country, and despite being so close to being done with all this with a vaccine, cases wil explode in a week or two because of absent minded selfishness.

Fuck mendy, fuck walker, fuck foden, and fuck everyone else footballer or otherwise who has fucking stupidly acted in a way that can further the spread. Without even going into the fact that football has been allowed to carry on because they're in a "strict" bubble, I'm so fucking done with people making excuses "innocently" mixing with others amidst a global pandemic that the UK has failed horribly at containing because of just that attitude.

It shouldn't even be about breaking rules (because they're convoluted bullshit anyway), everyone has a societal responsibility to suffocate the virus and I'm fucking sick of British exceptionalism breathing life into it.

I don't give a fuck about football at the moment and each time one of these brain-dead show ponies breaks their bubble it fucking infuriates me. Football is only being played on the condition that it's strictly controlled, which the child millionaires are doing their level best to take advantage of.
 
Can't help but laugh that I spent so long defending our full-back who was falsely accused of having a Christmas gathering, only for our other full-back to have an actual one a few days later. Only at City.

Get Mendy away from the club IMO. When you think about how thoroughly we assess player personalities and discipline before signing them, and how important it usually is to Pep, it's actually surprising that we signed him in the first place.

I think the straw that broke the camel's back was the West Brom game.

Before that, although a lot of posters didn't want to see it and this thread became a bit argumentative, he was showing glimpses of promise, spells in games when he'd be very effective and Pep was ramping up his game time.

The West Brom game was an absolute debacle though, it was completely different to his other poor games which were really OK or good games with a blunder or two, against West Brom he was shite and lazy for the entire time he was on the pitch and he's not played a single minute since.

I agree up to a point - but I live on a small close of about ten houses. The neighbours all have good jobs, are pretty well educated, and believe they are sticking to the rules pretty closely. I know a lot of other people who would laugh at the precautions many of them are still taking.

Still, I know what six of those households did on New Year's, and four of the six had gatherings similar or larger than Mendy. It pisses me off immensely, but as you say it's something that is happening all over the country - probably in millions of households, so I'm not going to get any more angry with Mendy that with the millions of other people who are fucking up.
 
His performance (plus the fact that he's constantly injured) doesn't warrant putting up with his off field shenanigans. Need to cut ties tbh.
 
Also been a clown this fella, put all his efforts into trying to make himself the social media king and the king of banter instead of putting time and effort to getting fit and fighting for the badge .

Rules are rules, but I'm not really sure that he can be punished more severely by the club, for having two friends over, than Kyle Walker was for having a sex party in his house during full lockdown. And I very much doubt he's the only one that did something like this. It wasn't the most brazen breach of rules.

I'd be looking to move him on asap, not because of this, but rather on the basis the signing hasn't worked out and we need a more reliable option in his position.

Bit off topic but did anyone see Ederson's Instagram story on NYE? There were loads of people in his house. Guessing he must have worked it in a way that was in the rules given he posted the video himself, but it looked kind of odd.
