Honestly I thought he was lucky that Gundogan made such an intelligent movement while he was being indecisive.

I don't know what has happened to his game, seems to want 10 seconds longer to do every single thing than he actually has.

Id love to see Jesus on the left, Aguero in the middle and Torres on the right.
Its definitely time to try something new. What you propose ticks the box in terms of extra threat and positivity, all three have that instinct to drive forward with intent and purpose.

I would rather listen to Paul Merson than some of the garbage written about him on here.

A beautiful control, turns the defence inside out, sets it up on a plate for Gundogan, to finish a beautiful goal and one plonker turns it into a negative, others who have had it in for sterling for the 150 goal contributions lap it up.

I stopped there

It was good play by Sterling and nice to see him show composure at the end before passing to Gundo. However, probably best not to make a habit of listening to Merson.

Just to answer the question about why Pep moved Sterling to the left when he was so good on the right,

It was so that Bernardo could play on the right, he was mediocre on the left and Pep probably wanted to get more out of him even if it meant Sterling shifts left.

Our best wing combination is probably Jesus LW and Sterling RW. Would like to see Jesus get some time on that side and we just play with 2 10s in the middle.

He needs Sergio up there with him. He will come good.

He's already come good a dozen times over. This is a brief poor run of form, nothing more.
Remember, barring a complete collapse of ability this is a guy who will end his career as one of the top 10 PL goalscorers ever. And he plays for us.

He’ll always bag goals, especially in this team as his movement is superb and so is his pace. If you’re happy to just look at how many he’s scored come the end of the season then you will probably say there is nothing wrong as his stats will look decent at worst.

I disagree that he’s had a brief dip in form though. His contribution during a 90 minutes besides goals and the odd assist has been very poor for well over 12 months as has his touch and general play. I’d love to see him back on the right and rebuild his confidence in beating defenders for fun again. Problem is unless Jesus moves out to the left or Torres starts to look comfortable there I can’t see it happening any time soon.

Spot on. Both paragraphs.

He was a perfect out all today and worked very hard, he’s so much better on the right and allows cancelo to be inverted same with Phil on the other side

His part in the 3rd was comically bad. He was probably the fastest player on the pitch and had a 3 yard head start, yet somehow managed to turn a one-on-one into nothing more than a decent chance.

That being said, I thought his overall performance was much better on the right, than what we have been seeing from him on the left.

Such an enigma. Has tremendous physical qualities that we badly lack in our attack without him but he has to have the worst decision making from an elite player I've ever seen.

That 1v1 was just calamitous from the second he went over the halfway line. Should have taken it onto his strong foot and either buried it as the keeper closed him down or taken it around him and slotted it into an empty net the keeper made it very easy for him yet he still bungles it bizarrely took it on his left which he knows he can't do anything but stand on it, then the unique indecisive slow motion pondering happened again, it's like watching a stream that's buffering with the amount of time he spends standing still on the ball before making the worst decision possible. Very very fortunate it landed at kdbs feet.

Numerous other instances where his poor decision making ended very positive attacks which usually start from good work by him. Despite all the criticism he did a lot of good work on the right and showed once more he has to play there or not at all.
