She particularly highlighted that part of this is due to better treatment and care, which is good. Of course it'll unfortunately still rise as time goes on and the Christmas/new year catch up takes place.

I was talking to Stepping Hill nurse last week who was saying that March was just 'ICU full of fat blokes' (her words not mine), but now its more spread across ages, genders, sizes and not so ill. But still poorly and taking up beds.
 
So if your bubble isn't a work colleague and you don't drive can you still get a lift to work?

Or would sharing a car with 1 person be considered more likely to spread a virus than getting on a bus that's had a 25 stop people traffic each hour every hour for 12 hours?

My work recommend that that 2 people max in a car share with the passenger sat in the left rear seat with windows open.
Then again, my work claim we are safer coming in to work than we would be staying at home, go figure

I have to run people about for work. Masks, windows open and the passenger sits in the back on the passenger side.

I injected my self a couple of times a week for 2 years on a medical trial. The training consisted of a Nurse giving me the "jab" pack then watched as I cleaned the skin area and injected myself in the stomach. However, as you say it's more a question of logistics.

I heard a Doctor on 5 Live yesterday saying it's not rocket science (actual words) to produce the vaccine once the formula is available, companies in other forms of manufacturing could make and distribute the vaccine but would do so at commercial rates. I would imagine by around this time next year anyone will be able to go private for a jab or possibly after an initial consultation/training be able to purchase the vaccine and self administer. This could happen if we need to get the vaccine either once or twice a year.

Is that allowed though? I know they're not exactly going to be pulling people other but I'd like to know what the actual rules are?

They give out a few rules but there's nothing about any of the grey areas.
 
Didn't know where to put this but seeing that it's covid related I'll post it here.

This morning one of my best mates has died of this horrible disease.
He was just 50 years of age.
We both went together to watch City for many years and was together when we won our first trophy in 35 years in the f.a.cup final.
R.I.P. my friend Ste.

Did he have any underlying? was he unfit?

Well I'm allowed as its work. Not sure about grabbing a lift or car sharing.
 
There's something I don't get regarding the new variant. They've found isolated cases of it in various EU countries, but for some reason it's not spread there anything like it has over here. It sounds as though they've been really really lucky and managed to catch the only very few cases withinn these other countries before it's spread any further, which seems unlikely given how transmissible we're told it is.

Even with the banning of UK flights etc, surely the chances are it was too late and already spreading, but we're not seeing that in daily figures at all?
