696 care home outbreaks this week still in England.
The N Ireland numbers over Christmas have risen too - nearly doubled since the week before Christmas and at 133 is at the highest since I have been tracking it.
THESE are where the big rises in cases leading to deaths seem to be occurring and why we will likely be at or above 1000 deaths again today.
I said the same yesterday. Streets were busy with people when I got off the bus after work. Work was busier than last year too. In the first lockdown when I had to go into work, there were the odd people in, yesterday about a third of all staff were in.Popped into my workplace office block at lunchtime to get stuff to work from home and pick up post.
First lockdown it was empty.
Today, as busy as it is on any normal day, full of people mingling in communal areas.
Also noticed the roads are no different than any other time.
This will go on longer than March as no one appears to be listening to the current restrictions.

Everybody knows there is no enforcement. First lockdown march-june working from home worked fine. Now its "Not possible"Popped into my workplace office block at lunchtime to get stuff to work from home and pick up post.

Same with everything else, wearing masks, house parties, driving to other counties for a walk, going abroad for "essential travel" yet no marks on instagram putting up pictures of the pool in Dubai, if there is no punishment there is no deterrent.
Not necessarily. Its more a case of getting the NHS / PHE / DHSC to do what they can and then supplement it with army logistics.Johnson has only now decided to use the Army to help roll out the vaccine? It was obvious to many on here that this was likely to be needed, hes just making it up as he goes along.
They clearly had few viable plans in place to vaccinate millions, yet they have known for months this day was coming. Shambolic!
Said middle of Feb so kids can go back to school after half term holidays.I don't know why they didn't say by middle of March, would still be an outstanding achievement, why do they put so much pressure on themselves with these targets
Glad to know your on the way back Tolm.Stepped on scales today and not exactly shocked to learn I lost 29 pounds in four weeks.
Gonna take a while to get that back.
I've lost something more, not sure what.
Probably a sense of my own mortality for the first time in my 46 years.
I agree entirely, which means they hadnt anticipated the problems or planned according to my mind. Not necessarily. Its more a case of getting the NHS / PHE / DHSC to do what they can and then supplement it with army logistics.
That said the army should have been put in charge of team comms and logistics from day one.I said wouldn't work well the management of our beuaracracy is incompetent.
Care homes with cases. Same for the 133 in Northern Ireland.@Healdplace when you say "696 care home outbreaks" do you mean cases in care homes or care homes with cases?
