if the transport is their, then it just needs organising and planning. The vaccine needs to be in a verified refrigeration chain though doesn't it?

They dont use refrigerated !orries , more the supermarket ones but they are needed for food , my surgery has been vaccinating for two weeks , things are moving ,it is a massive logistical effort, never seen in peacetimePrecisely, so why not use part of their network. These people use their expertise. But in a completely separate capacity as their day to day running. When they sat down and discussed and planned the vaccine notification, distribution and delivery you would have expected them to have picked up the phone and spoken to those who do this day in day out.
it was on the news just now. Whats the chance that those two are just the sole ones. There is only 700 odd. It isnt that difficult.
Fair enough, I agree they are superb at logistics, but when were they aske dto be involved? I agree lets see where we are on Monday, But the early signs are worrying me. We are doing well but we should be doing better.the armed forces have excellent logistic skills which is being utilised. Personally, I understand your frustration, but I would say lets see where we are on Monday
I think we will struggle to meet the 13.9m by mid Feb, but as I say, let the supply chain and other logistic elements get going and we will soon see whether we will or notFair enough, I agree they are superb at logistics, but when were they aske dto be involved? Is there any particular reason why Germany isn’t performing better on the vaccination front? I’d have thought with them being one of the most organised and efficient countries in the world that they would be making decent inroads. Or is it a supply issue?I had a call from my boss in Germany today and apart from business we spoke about the vaccination process in our respective countries. He was scathing about the German roll out and he expects to get his first shot no earlier than the last quarter of this year (he is 50).
There is talk of Merkel being in talks with Russia to possibly obtain the Sputnik V vaccine and he said there is no fucking way he or his family would have that (or a Chinese one).
Our numbers will look unbelievable compared to theirs by the end of next week.
There waiting for Churchlawton Blue to get the logistics sorted outIs there any particular reason why Germany isn’t performing better on the vaccination front? My daughter works at Trafford General. Apparently several staff members who’ve been vaccinated, who have previously had COVID, have been quite unwell after the jab. Obviously this hasn’t been an issue so far, as most over 80s who are being vaccinated haven’t had COVID. And it maybe just be a strange coincidence. But worth watching.

Just like dpd and hermes, you’re starting to look silly now.I dissagree completely, surely to roll out the vaccination program as quickly as possible you need it on the shelves in the fridges not on some delivery truck or warehouses. You always need more in the vaccination centres than you have people waiting for it. Not the other way round which is what is currently happening.
We only have 700 or 1000 vaccination centres and those in charge cant even let them all know when they can expect to receieve the vaccine or how much of which type in advance. Ive just seen it on tv.
You can track any parcel delivered by Amazon, Royal mail, DPD, Hermes etc to any one of 20mill different addresses in the UK and each of those compnaies deliver several million parcels every day.
You can just tell that this has been poorly organised and planned from the off.
I’ve heard a few similar stories to this, definitely worth keeping an eye on.My daughter works at Trafford General. How would you have done it Mr ExpertThe vaccine roll-out is far too slow.
Yes, flu like symptoms over a few days. Not anything to get too worried about. Just strange that it happened to those who knew they had previously had COVID. May be a total coincidence. How unwell is quite unwell? My missus' mum felt really rough for a couple of days after her 2nd Pfizer dose (early 50s care worker) but she's better now. Was expected of course and manageable (soreness, fatigue, headaches, chills).
I will be the sat nav inputter for youI’ll drive the tanks!
