First week of lockdown, what lockdown ?
Roads just as busy as normal, high street just as busy, local builders still in groups and not wearing masks in the local takeaway shops such as Barker's etc.
Local people posting pictures of them on Facebook etc. Was speaking to the local covid19 wardens and they were saying its busier in lockdown than it was it tier 4 !

I really dont know why so many people arent following the guidelines anymore.

Its abit depressing seeing so many people not giving a f**k about this virus. Having worked in the town this week, we have seen the same people every day. Even the people who use the mobility scooters are out every day l. I thought if you need a mobile scooter you might be in the at risk group. But have seen the same group of scooters meet up in the town as less 4 or 5 in the group.

I almost ran home after getting off the bus after work today to get away from people.

It was quiter on the roads and pavements between Christmas and New Year before the full lockdown came in.

There was a coffee shop open that had six people inside waiting for coffee. HOW THE FUCK IS THAT ESSENTIAL?!

STAY AT HONE YOU CUNTS, I’M FUCKING SICK OF YOU!

Catastrophic day for GM today.

Seems the tipping point has occurred.

2286 cases today. A rise of 509 - when the entire NW rise in cases today was 510.

Think that says it all. Huge rise in % of NW total - back up to 30% from 25%,. Biggest day to day rise in weeks\

Only Tameside with less than 150 cases. Five of the ten boroughs over 200 today.

Manchester its highest number in months at 556. 202 up in one day.

Bad bad day today.

They’ve put us into National lockdown. People aren’t supposed to be out other than to exercise outside or to go to the shops.

They cannot physically shoot people.

I think they’ve been weeks too late and that’s been a farce, the schools is a farce but other than that, I’m not sure they can do much else.
Well they could and the same people would complain about that.

I said a few days ago we will need a harder lockdown to get through this, unless you’ve got a family member or friend that’s particularly ill with covid then it’s just not hitting home to the majority.

As much as I think the government have been a shambles over the last couple of months, I think you’ll find most western countries will suffer a similar fate, it’s just lockdown fatigue, people can’t be arsed. Back in March last year it was the unknown, now it’s not.

Where's Hone? Is it where the Hart is?

The tsunami is here.

However, elsewhere in NW things stabilised a bit. But still high.

Wirral - highest ever at 505 cases - with a Pop Score rise of 156.

Warrington 247 with Pop Score rise of 113.

Liverpool 792 - bit down on yesterday but second highest ever, Pop score rose by 159.

For comparison in GM only Salford had a really bad day today with a shocking number of 277 cases - higher than in many weeks - and it rose by a Pop Score of 107 - highest in GM in ages

All the above places went up more today and were still double or more most rises in GM.

Where’s their resilience?! Where’s their sense of responsibility to their fellow countrymen?!

I can’t get my head around people who have such poor strength of character that they can’t have a few years of their lives under some strict rules that will help stop the spread of a virus that’s killing thousands of people.

They’re a minority but they’re ruining everything for the majority. I’m fucking sick to death of the selfish twats!

I went for a run last night at rush hour and as part of my route I go over the M60 bridges twice. As far as I could see, the traffic was no different to how it was in the last few months. It was MUCH greater than in the last lockdown by quite a way. On the March lockdown there was a handful of cars, now I could see hundreds. In the morning when I go outside I can hear the M60 as I don't live too far from it and you can hear the noise level is clearly much higher.

I walked past my sons school this morning and that looked reasonably busy. We are homeschooling him, but it's clear there are a lot more keyworkers now. Spoke to my mate who lives opposite a different primary school and he said it is similar to a normal day there. There's obviously some children not there, but he says he couldn't really tell much difference.

Another person I know is being asked to go into work in central Manchester, even though they've been working at home - more productively than they were in the office. I suspect that some companies know that the virus is very unlikely to kill employees now, so the expectation is that we can "crack on" to a greater extent. For those homeschooling, I suspect the pressure is going to be very, very difficult to deal with. Homeschooling requires dedicated time, but some employers expect this to be done outside work time.

I know this is anecdotal, but all the people I speak to on Teams at work are saying the same thing.

We're in a real pickle I suspect. Companies are expecting employees to carry on working and people are going into work. The Government and NHS are expecting lockdown, but people cannot - or will not - comply. Parents are sending children into school and going to work. Given the level that I am seeing and hearing, it's going to be very difficult to get the numbers down, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

As many others have said, this lockdown bears no resemblance to the first one.

It is an absolute joke and i don't understand why this is not being tackled.

For instance, first time round exercise was allowed once a day for an hour, now it's basically unlimited.

Lost count of the number of takeaways i passed tonight with people queuing up outside, Is a Kebab, Pizza or chippy really essential.

I have noticed absolutely no change in the amount of traffic on the roads either.

Yep, but the country has a big percentage of self entitled wankers who don’t give a fuck.

I agree with your comments
Simply put however people are fed up, tired and pissed off to the extent where they no longer care.
That's the problem I'm afraid.
I'm not one of them and not justifying them it's just what I'm hearing from others.

Hmmmm. Not sure about that. Schools are still 30-50% open. And the R number is STILL increasing

You can't possibly know what the R number is since lock down. There's no data. And what I'm on about at this point is action *before* Christmas, when most of England was tier 2 or 3. That's what cost lives.

The ITV News just had a big feature on the London hospital crisis and built it around figures from TWO days ago. Even the ones I posted 24 hours ago in here were newer.

I am just about to post data that was available when the report went out that is 48 hours better than the ones ITV used.

How can a 24/7 news network not use at least yesterdays data let alone today's?

No wonder we are always behind the curve chasing the virus with journalists so lazy.
