Fair play, City Xtra

Don't mind Sam Lee personally. Called CAS a bit badly but certainly his take wasn't as bad as many I saw. He probably could have been on our side a bit more but to be honest we basically said very little and people like @Prestwich_Blue although very respected on here have no standing compared to the unofficial statements from the UEFA bods.

What strikes me is how bad our reputation as fans is amongst journalists. Whilst I think some of the criticism comes from overly sensitive people having to justify their own stance squabbling about a B+ mark shows we sometimes are a little sensitive. Be annoyed and move on and fight the battles that are worth fighting. If we were kids in the playground we'd have had our heads cracked together and told to stop being idiots. Then we would skulk off muttering under our breaths but basically ignore each other. I think we all need a bit of space from each other.

I don't need someone else's opinion to know that Dias is flipping good and has transformed this team.

Maybe Ok for me but probably in my cacheView attachment 8090
Our national broadcaster ladies and gentlemen, happy to print headline after headline about footballers and so called celebrities who have broken lockdown rules, but more than willing to highlight the ‘scenes’ in Crosby.

In the past I always had time for the BBC, it was the go to broadcaster for news and sport, its accelerated decline into just another click bait form of media is gathering pace and its integrity as a news organisation is reaching Hello magazine levels.

It seems the new head of the BBC was talking absolute shìte when he said he would be ensuring it regained its once lofty reputation.

Each to their own, defending the wankers constantly, not just saying your bit and fucking off but continuously throughout a thread and all of the other threads like this, it is a pointless waste of your life, unless you get a kick out of it, of course?

But it doesn't bother him, 10k posts in these threads tells it's own tale.
I was being facetious.

I think our fans' so called "reputation" relates only to a relatively small group of people on Twitter. But some of those so-called journalists have no formal training and are actually no more than professional trolls. However there is a broader issue about unfair coverage of City in the media generally and I think it is absolutely right for our fanbase to challenge it when it deserves to be challenged. I have mixed views on Sam Lee. I don't think he is in any way malicious (as some have claimed) but he has made a lot of mistakes, especially with his coverage of the FFP issue.

I think half the issue with Sam Lee is that he's the only City journalist that pumps out content frequently on a mainstream front. Most other clubs have multiple people covering them from all sorts of areas of media and for City it's just Sam.

It puts him on a pedestal whereby his words gather more momentum than maybe they should amongst certain quarters, who in turn receive it either really well or poorly depending on their viewpoint. If we had three other people in Sam's position writing about City we would probably be less bothered by him in particular.

Him being a United fan is always going to rustle a few feathers regardless of content.

I enjoy his articles mostly, although I don't trust him for transfer news. I think he's actually more pro-City than he was at Goal.

Fair play for trying to get every game on tv but the few games I’ve watched have been a shameless. The bbc is like some dodgy local YouTube channel. As much as I don’t like them it shows how good skys coverage is (pictures not sound)

This 100%
Some of the no mark "journalists" on sites like Twitter spout, tedious, untrue bollocks that is taken as gospel to repeat ad nauseam by clueless lemmings that follow other clubs who are too thick to form an opinion of their own.
When called out, these no marks try to turn the tables on our fans that challenge them and point the finger in an attempt to deflect the fact that they are peddling lies.

Aye, 20% of the match was showing the Birmingham manager standing completely still watching play from his technical area.

That's why it is important to pick a battle. Some of the petty stuff we need to learn to ignore and challenge the big stuff. If we kick off every time we are easy to dismiss when it matters
