The Conservative Party

Well I would argue that Corbyn was and is a man of peace, you just need to do a little research, I'm sure you have that in your locker.
As for Stanley de pfeifel, I didn't say he has done better or worse, you are very adept at twisting other people's posts to suit an agenda. I said he is a wanker and that it says much about his family that nobody would be at all surprised if he jumped the queue.
You need to get a grip here fella, your hatred of all things Corbyn is consuming you and it's not a good look.
Haha. You compared the two of them, I didn’t do that initially and only did it when you brought Corbyn up as a comparison.

So no, I’ve not twisted anything.

Oh boy have I done my research, including actually reading large parts of the antisemitism study.

I couldn’t even care less about him now, his politics is ancient history.

I think you claiming I have an obsession with Corbyn when you’re obsessing over an 80 year old man getting a Covid jab, because he’s related to a Tory, is a little bit... what’s the world? Hypocritical, don’t you think?

You forgot to mention the fact that he also got away with his trip to Greece.

I've just read back over the thread ad can't see any posts that that describe this sort of scenario. At the bare bones is suggestion of corruption and links to Tory donors, but that doesn't equate to the government holding back funds.

Money deposited into a parent/carers bank account is the easiest option I would agree about that. Unfortunately there is always going to be some abuse and piss takers but that could be rectified under an electronic gift card scheme with regular top ups and restricting payment as invalid to fags and booze.

Can’t say I really care if a few folk take the piss, economy is fuelled by consumer spending, so a few people dropping a Govt tenner on some booze is doing us all a favour.

The US Govt sent out checks to everyone, another $600 on its way, may even get bumped up to $2 grand, exactly the sort of thing we should be doing. All this fucking about with an apple in a fucking box.

Trip to Greece, saying his son's comments about burkha wearers didn't go far enough, insulting the Irish on a TV shows saying the British public are stupid....but has he ever met the IRA?
There you go bringing up Corbyn again.

Neither of those things are as bad meeting the IRA as an ally.

You know this.

I agree with you, I just thought this plan might have traditional conservative support and get over the political hurdles of the remote possibility of funding crack dens.

Wouldn’t it have been easier to hand a £30 voucher to the parents instead of all this arsing around subcontracting to a firm (probably Tory donors) to put together a box with an orange and a tin of condensed milk in it?

Cut out the wasteful middle man so to speak. That’s on the Govt, also the Govt should at least dictate what should go in the box if we are doing it this half arsed way.

Quite possibly it would have been easier. That was what happened first time around. I’m not sure if people found it embarrassing or couldn’t then go to the till and buy the food and treat themselves to a bottle of cheap wine whatever reasons (and I’d like to think done with good intentions) it was decided this time around that schools were to provide food boxes and where that wasn’t possible vouchers would be provided.

This money will be provided to the LEA by central government. As we know the days of your mates mum working the kitchen at school and making a jam rolly polly are long gone, economies of scale and all that, so the next logical step is for the LEA to employ the usual provider to the school and have them distribute directly to households rather than the school so I’m not sure if it’s wasteful in that sense. The government do stipulate what needs to go in to some extent via the DoE standards.

I see Compass Group who outsourced the packing to Chatwell are basically calling this story out and saying tell us where you got this and we will sort.

This whole we outsource it to you and you outsource it to them and they outsource it some more. Everyone with a finger in the pie needing to get paid if it really gives us much value for money mind but I guess they don’t usually box this stuff up.

It’s not just the government mind, I had murders with my insurance company after a leak from an upstairs pipe outsourcing the claim who outsourced it again who outsourced it to some other bunch. All big companies. Piss take it was, months of arguing. After much complaining we finally ended up managing to fuck them all off and getting a local lad in to sort and the insurance to pay out to him (even the insurance company couldn’t believe how many outsources it had and they are the ones paying for it).

Not when their kids are going hungry thou mate because they want a bottle of gin.

The US and a few quid is fuck all compared to what our government has chucked at furlough and other support schemes

This.

The Tories and their propaganda machine will divide the workers. Plenty are outraged by the meals scandal but everyone who defends it will know a mythical Tracey with 7 kids in the United colours of Benetton who deserves fuck all because she's a work shy, piss taker with a house, sky, PlayStation's etc that they are paying for with their taxes.

Who knows mate, maybe society will be a little less judgemental now so many people have experienced life needing support.

Cheap bottle of plonk at £3.49, who really cares as long as they also feed the kids.

US is passing trillions in stimulus packages, all Govts are, and in Europe they have decent levels of sick pay, unlike our meagre amounts, a factor that means people can’t afford to self isolate and hampers efforts to control the spread.

The Govt has done an okay job on the funding, save for sick pay and paying people to eat out and spread the virus. Of course they will bugger the recovery by insisting on ‘balancing the books’ or some other nonsense.

As long as they are feeding them then I don’t see the harm personally. The problem is we don’t know if they are or aren’t so best solution (as the government see it) are these boxes, maybe a bit nanny state. End of the day this support is there for the kids I don’t really care how it is delivered.

Having just been to Morrisons today .... thats probably the only stuff they could get. Shelves pretty empty.. and some fairly big price increases (a box of 18 Stella gone from £13 to £18.40 )

What has the world come to?

They are all taking the piss these supermarkets, they know we need to drink to get thru this.

As for the box content them reduced sugar baked beans are wank ‘n all, stupid idea. Like them lightly salted crisps, what are they thinking? Still they could have put a couple of own brand tins of beans in there for the money of heinz. I’d be having cheesy beans on toast for me tea if that was my box.
