In the post coronavirus inquiry if China is proved beyond doubt to be the cause of this should they be sued by other countries for damages?

Sorry - I'm not having a go at you, your input as always is appreciated. But a deputy chief medical officer quoting the words that a recent mutation found in Brazil "is both more transmissible and less responsive to antibodies and treatment" IS a scary quote in itself. The 'try not to worry about it' follow up is bizarre, as if it's something not worth any of us worrying about then why are we bringing it up or talking about it in the first place?

Is this just a case that she was asked about it to have the subject brought up? If so, she couldn't duck the issue.

I can’t imagine how that would work, although I assume it has in the past? I think it would be difficult enough to persuade parents to allow their children to be vaccinated for something that barely makes them ill, but to get consent for them to be part of a trial would be even harder.

A good point, I agree.

I think they would find a way - the vaccines so far do not contain the actual pathogen part of covid, and if there are very few reactions, it wouldn't be dangerous. Then it's a matter of persuading people, which as you say, may be the difficult part.

It may be that later vaccines deal with this issue if it's not deemed high priority at the moment.

Northern Ireland rolling 7 day cases total has fallen since Christmas from 12,000 to half that.

They are reaping the reward of lock downs before and after Christmas it seems as numbers are stabilising and will hopefully translate into hospital numbers as these are too high and see, largely because care homes are still a major problem there.

Of those past 7 day cases the age ranges are:-

837 (0 - 19). 2748 (20 - 39), 2481 (40 - 59), 1177 (60 - 79), 523 (over 80)

Remember that cold and flu treatment from Australia that I talked out 3 months ago?Anybody over the age of 50 who is at risk who has to go out and about for work should use Taffix anti viral gell nasal spray in addition to a putting a Mask on afterwards. A snifter lasts 5 hours and It really does reduce your chances of catching any nasal caught virus (inc Covid) by 78%. Fucking expensive but in my opinion worth it, if you have to take the risk for work, until you get the vaccine.
Passed for cold and flu use back in September it is now avaiailable in the UK.

Good man

Ali Sakallioglu, the UK's longest suffering COVID-19 patient, who is only in his 50s, has told Sky News his children were called several times and told he might now make it.

Speaking to Sky News, he said he was told to self-isolate after developing symptoms, as is normal, but had to be taken to hospital after he was found to have low oxygen levels.

"All of a sudden I had a heart attack," he said, adding he had to tell his children he was being placed in to a coma.

He woke up three months later, and in that time had lung disease, a heart attack and sepsis, among other things, and his children were told on three separate occasions that he may not make it through the night.

Mr Sakallioglu spent seven months in hospital in total, and is still recovering at home.
