Another shocking case was Peter Lorimer about 1960. His dad was offered £5,000 cash if Peter signed for the rags. Now in 1960 £5,000 was about 10 years' worth of the average industrial wage. His dad at first agreed but then changed his mind. Peter went on to have a great career with Leeds and Scotland but this episode is usually brushed under the carpet. Busby claimed he knew nothing about this offer which, given then size of the bung, strains credibility.

I agree however by the time we get a lead cases will be tumbling down. The peak has been reached in London. It will be reached up here in 2-3 weeks’. They won’t be able to cancel with things moving in the right direction.

Just got back from the Hyde Active Jab Centre for the old fella. Got there 30 minutes early but waved through, several details and questions then the jab. Stayed in line with other vehicles in our "batch" then asked to wait a few minutes to ensure he was ok. Given a card with his first jab details on it and a blank space to fill in after the second, it fits in a wallet and can be used as proof of jab. Thought he was getting the Pfizer one but turned out to be AZ.

Just a pat on the back for all the staff there, runs like a military exercise and even though they may have been there all day in really cold, rainy weather they were all so nice and polite, no old people should feel intimidated

As an aside today my Dad got two telephone calls asking him to pay the bill for his Covid Jab. I would imagine it's just a coincidence and he told them both to Piss Off (my advice of what to say to anyone asking for cash and bank details over the phone). Anyone with elderly or vulnerable friends and family would be advised to let them know about these vile fraudsters.

Well at the last count Liverpool FC and their fans claim to have invented songs, banners, going to the match with your mates, socialism, watching your team abroad, wearing trainers, players shouting encouragement to their team mates, players looking around before receiving the ball and now apparently they have invented the very concept of a manager chatting with his players.

Great to here that. Have heard of slightly different experiences across Tameside so glad to hear its working well in Hyde.

Thanks for posting about the fraudsters, well worth knowing. There really are some awful people knocking about.
