Has MotD 2 & Mark Chapman from last night not been mentioned?

"We've got 3 matches tonight including the big one between Liverpool and United but we'll bring that to you later, which should tell you all you need to know..."

And after the Spurs v Sheffield game,

"We've still got the Liverpool v United game to come later, which will tell you all you need to know..."

And straight after ours,

"And finally we've got Liverpool versus United and we've made this hyped video so we're going to damn well show it..."

Credit where credit is due. Excellent stuff.
The dire and predictable match (as per 4 of their last 11 meetings) still got well over a 3rd of MotD time spent on the 3 matches. Iirc - I sfast forwarded after the 1st 2, to get to the goals again

Before the game was played you mean ? !

Possibly yeah tbh. Crouch’s family are big City fans. Not sure there’s anything sinister in this one. I doubt a paper would be waiting until gone 9pm on a Sunday night to get a piece ready on Crouch’s team of the week :)

Mike McGrath, the clueless ex-Sun clown now trolling for the Telegraph, now insisting City are ready to spend big on a striker this summer.
Kane? Haaland? Dybala?
No, he insists we are going all out for the red reject, flat track bully and ‘second touch is a tackle’ ultimate antithesis of a Pep player, Romelu Lukaku
A reminder that he was responsible for this work of genius only a couple of weeks ago

You should bookmark that post for the end of season as we're lifting the title

How are these fuckers not pulled up by their bosses for writing such crap?
Their output is like me delivering every parcel on my van to the wrong house every day for a month and expecting not to lose my job.

How can any sports journalist seriously think that Lukaku could fit in our system and then write this down in print for the world to laugh at them for the know nowt that they are?

I stopped it as soon as they started playing whatever smoke they were blowing up their backsides with the video clip myself so I'll take your word on that. Absolutely no interest in watching the match.

The media still laud the 9/2 dips and raggies 17/2 to win the league. God it's hurting the fools as City move in to close to 1/2 to win the league. Have a bit of sympathy, we had the Plastico Derby yesterday while they were both sitting pretty in trap 1 and trap 2. Look a little bit under the surface of your click empire you leeches.

BBC just asked me to fill in question about their services. Bet they wont ask again. Said basically your football department is so far up liverpool and utd arse its embarrassing to the licence payer. That dan roan and his team daily write negative and lies about Manchester City on a daily basis !
That Garth crooks doenst even know which keeper won the golden gloves award last season just to point out a few of my points ! Lol

The story probably came from Lukaku's agent Frederico Pastorello. He is a fantasist who recently said that Lukaku is "the best striker in the world." The Inter Milan owners are currently trying to sell their club in a firesale because of a financial crisis. The first stage when hawking a player round is to leak a bogus story to a moron like McGrath, linking a player to City to try and drive the price up.

He may have got loads of hits on that story so his editor will be delighted with him. The Telegraph basically exists to service its advertisers these days so if he pulls in the punters then he's done his job.

I will tell you how big this United and Liverpool rivalry is (At risk of people being appalled by what I say). I asked a girl out in 1991. She was pretty fit (different league to me). I thought she would say no but she was a United fan so I told her I had 2 tickets for Utd v Liverpool that weekend (then I thought she would say yes). It worked and she said yes. I then went to Old Trafford on the Thursday to buy tickets for the match THAT WEEKEND. And got 2, easily.
That year United capacity was c47500. Two weeks earlier they had played Sunderland at home in front of 45,394 and then for the huge clash versus Liverpool they attracted 43,690. Not even a sellout, hence I could wander up and get tickets with 3 days notice. Biggest rivalry my arse
Indeed.
How often have those two teams finished first and second in the league over the last 50 years? What with this ‘colossal’ (Tyler) rivalry, you’d imagine it happened all the time, Barca -Real style, wouldn’t you?

Without checking, I’d guess twice in the 80s & maybe once in the 00’s?
