Is the correct answer.

Unless, of course, you are a 6’4’’ cage fighter and then you can usually say want you want.
My 5 ft, 18 year old daughter works at Tesco’s as a temp. She’s not allowed to challenge anyone for not wearing a mask (that’s security’s job) but she can ask people to wear theirs properly. And they always apologise and put it on correctly. I sometimes wonder if they are less likely to have a go as she looks like a little girl.

Of the 842 England hospital deaths (aged between 28 and 104) all but 35 had previously known underlying conditions.

They were aged between 54 and 94.

As you're so sure it's great and dandy I'm sure you will volunteer.

You didn't bother reading what I wrote, did you?

[As an aside, I would not personally trust anything about the Russian vaccine until published in a reputable journal and approved by a Western regulatory agency. Efficacy, safety and particularly manufacturing and quality control for something done under time pressure for national prestige need independent confirmation IMO. Not at all saying it's definitely dodgy, but you can imagine the pressure to produce "results" with the FSB knocking on the door]

@Healdplace , not sure how you do it, but you have been amazing in this thread, a real great effort, thanks
Thank you, but being temporarily retired (sort of), having just myself and 3 cats to care about now and having spent my working life compiling data and writing about it helps.

But mostly it is just being crackers, I suspect! What my brother thinks anyway and I never argue with him.

UK records 1,610 new COVID deaths
Due to technical difficulties, today's update to the #COVID19 Dashboard is delayed. An update is expected by 16:30 GMT.

There have been 33,355 new cases and 1,610 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

A total of 4,266,577 people have now received the 1st dose of a vaccine. https://t.co/k0Y6f4cezR

Newbury Racecourse which is hosting a COVID vaccination hub that provides up to 1,500 jabs daily is temporarily halting the service to enable its horse racing to continue.

The Berkshire site opened its vaccination hub on Thursday last week as part of the UK's drive to inoculate against the virus.

But less than a week later, the centre will shut for a day on Wednesday for a scheduled race day.

Horse racing is able to continue under lockdown rules because it is seen as an elite sport

Total deaths today with England out of hospital to come (always big adds on mid week) is 945.

We will not avoid 1000 deaths and some today unfortunately.

Last week the number was 839 and it became 1243 when all settings were added.

Sadly we may be 1400 or more and anything less would be better than expectations.

1564 is the highest so far.

Looks all but certain we will go past that in next couple of days unfortunately. But you never know.
It’s a bad state of affairs, but there are some good signs that the drops in case rises (may be lockdown rather than vaccines showing through yet) may start to show drops in death numbers in two weeks.

There’s going to be a shit couple of weeks before then, but hopefully the drop is in sight.
