Out of interest is anyone else taking vit supplements to boost their immune system.

I’m taking Vit D, Vit C and Zinc

i definitely need that vit D at the moment in winter and WFH

Yeah i still have asthma , got a new inhaler , combination of steroid and long acting bronchodilator which is better , some days i breathe like i have smoked all my life and i never have although i was born at home into a joint 120 a day parents so perhaps it just needed a spark to set it off

Generally my ME is still in relapse so there is much more going on than just my lungs

At least on here we can get the !ong covid message out , now we have longer term research published the gov really need to hammer it home , even fit healthy people get long covid , this is goig to be the next drain on the nhs

it’s a virus, it spreads more easily in winter.

People are a huge part of the blame for rises in cases. At every rise there’s been. There’s far too much of this letting people off for their cuntish actions. They are only part of a wider reasoning including haphazard/late decision making from government and the fact it’s a virus that spreads easily, but fuck me are they part of it.

Three days running I’ve felt that there are a lot of people out and about. You just get that feeling, “it doesn’t feel right this!”

A coffee shop near me had about six people inside being/waiting to be served, none of them were standing two metres away from each other, why aren’t they queuing outside? Holland & Barrett was eye-wideningly busy, why aren’t they queueing outside? Three women with no masks on all stood next to each other having a chat in the street, why aren’t they standing apart/where are their masks/what are the playing at? (and it was one of those conversations where you know they aren’t from the same household - “how’s Sandra? oh I haven’t seen her since before Christmas” sort of thing).

Just the general numbers I saw on a walk home from the bus station after work on Wed Thu and Friday this week felt like too many people out and about.

...which are all unbelievably from last Summer.

But it still feels like too many people when this is a faster spreading strain than we had last year.

There should be far more calling people out for doing the wrong thing, not less, and certainly not any of this absolving blame from the population just because people don’t like to point the finger at the people.

Yeah and ive got my parents on it. We all know its good for the immune system, so it certainly can't help! On Vitamin D and a multivitamins general one.

My wife has endured an horrific month or so, catching it from her school and then seeing me ripped apart by it.

She has been back at school all week looking after key worker kids and those who are deemed 'at risk'.

She had a class of 16 today out of 30.

Previous lockdowns she had no more than six.

Wtf is going on, our teachers are being guilt jobbed into putting their lives and those of their families on the line.

As usual you are right. Just lately in Co Durham (the last couple of days), police have started getting on buses and asking people what the purpose of their journey is. However, they are only remindingthem of the rules at present rather than dishing out fines. 1st lockdown I was furloughed but this time have been told due to numbers travelling no one will be furloughed. As you say, not many feel the rules apply to them.
