Political relations between UK-EU

The difference is that some of the key players in the Brexit debate, such as Farage and many ERG members, supported those views.

Well I'm not sure how prominent religious leaders and members and speakers at Didsbury mosque, the presence of ISIS and the other terrorist groups backed by different regimes in the Middle East is much different to be honest. They allowed and propogated the spread of those views and in the same way Brexit has become the UK platform for the spread of right wing views in conjunction with Trump in the US. The public figures just aren't as widely publicised to a western audience.

I’m not saying you’re wrong about the analogy but it is whataboutery and has been discussed endlessly in numerous threads following terrorist attacks.
Glad you’re in agreement that Brexit became the platform for the spread of extreme right wing views.

I wasn’t necessarily referring to the views themselves but Habib strikes me as a bit of an idiot.

Also, I am sure @mcfc1632 doesn’t claim to speak for all of those that wanted Brexit.
And I have not bothered to watch the video that was linked and being referred to - no interest in who Habib is or what he has to say

My concern today is - what I see as - the repeated exploitation of a tragedy to score cheap points on a football forum

Does it mean that the MP was killed because of the campaign?

Cox wasn’t even a prominent name in the remain campaign, she was very much a local MP and the man who murdered her was local.

He killed her because of her support for the local Muslim population, of which he detested.

I really don’t like this point, I think it’s using the tragedy.
He murdered her, in his tiny little mind, 'for Britain'. Also saying ''Britain come first''

third time in 2 pages. And nobody has 'exploited' anything so far.

Maybe I’m being pedantic but I can’t see the point in you constantly referring to making a point or winning arguments on a football forum. We’ve all got City in common and I’m sure we all enjoyed the dippers defeat the other night for example. But this is a politics forum to which you contribute frequently. If you don’t want to engage in arguments on a “football forum” then stick to the match threads and referencing YNWA on the dippers thread

I am comfortable in my own decision making - but thanks for your advice

Or is this just more intention from 'one side of the argument' to seek those supporting the UK leaving the EU, including the SM and CU to leave the thread?

TBF - you guys have done well on that front.

Just as an aside - this is generally the only topic on the sub-forum that I regularly post in. That is because on this forum - beyond being an 'irrational' CITY fan - I am also a strong supporter of the UK leaving the EU, including the SM and CU - and have been for many years.

I do not have 'deeper' involvements than that.

Others, particular key PKARs, are clearly political activists - and for them Brexit appears to be just another platform to pour out their prejudices

The point I make therefore is that - for me Brexit is of singular importance - for the activists - it is just another useful vehicle/platform

Only one person exploiting it to win an argument by repeatedly pretending to try to dismiss the point due to sensitivities.
