Chelsea thread 2020/21

I feel for Frank but there’s no great surprise here. Chelsea’s owner is notoriously impatient and I always doubted that Frank would be given time to build a team.

I know it’s really unlikely to happen but I really wouldn’t mind seeing him come to City as assistant to Pep. I think he’d be a solid replacement for Arteta.

18 months’ for tuchel.
Vote of confidence.
I don’t like look of him. Appears arrogant and not a lot to show for it

Ruthless imo.

Frank is clearly a very intelligent man with a very deep knowledge of the game.

I think he'd have improved them a lot given time.

I imagine he's absolutely devastated Chelsea being his club and him being a genuine legend there.

Certainly is ruthless.
We know ourselves that it takes a bit of time to bed a player in.
Cancelo last year, Ake this year.

they should have given him time to settle his new players into the system he wants to play. Then judge him.

I feel a bit for Lampard. But not giving a toss about chelski or tuchel.

Looking like this was their plan all along. Bring in German players, bundesliga players and the PSG captain.

he’ll probably get sacked in 18 months. Chelsea’s sack model doesn’t work anymore, they’ve got way more teams to compete with

I want to see frank get a chance at another club, as I thought he did well

Fucking hell, I was literally listening to a podcast discussing Hughes firing/Mancini's appointment when I wrote that.

Ok, so it's 4 permanents and 2 caretakers since we fired Mancini.

Tuchel is Abramovic's 13th permanent manager in 18 years.

Them keeping Rudiger this month, when Frank clearly didn’t fancy him, and binning off Tomori - who was one of the stars of his Derby side - should have made it plain to him they were going down a different path.

Shame, as Frank is one of football’s likeable characters - intelligent, knowledgeable, and manages to stand up for the club he loves without descending into petty tribalism - unlike pretty much any of the failed managers (or those that were too useless to even be offered the chance to manage in the first place) who pass themselves off as pundits of the game these days.

Worked a treat tonight.
ridiculous to draw any conclusions so soon but no way this lasts more than the 18 months.
They overpaid for those average German non-strikers

Tuchel has only just arrived. Got to give him a bit longer than 1 game. Maybe 2.

I didn't realise he had actually been appointed as manager until i saw this tonight.

I assume there must have been the same level of outrage as there was against City after sacking Hughes for Mancini?
