Chelsea thread 2020/21

Thought it was too soon when he was appointed but who chose the players they have bought as they look to be building a potentially very good side. I understand it a little bit if Abramovic wanted to buy experience and have more chance of 'instant success' but if he backed Frank then surely give him a bit more time with a young side? I know it's easy to say, we probably wouldn't accept it now at City but I just don't quite understand it

I don't think Abramovich rues any day mate, ruthless businessman
That is true. But him undoing all the good work of Lampard and his backroom team will probably bite Abramovich on the arse, talk about short sighted. It will most likely cause short term instability and there's no guarantee another manager will come in and turn things round. I feel a bit sorry for Lampard but he'll bounce back.

Crazy really, wasn’t helped with Werner and Havertz not hitting the ground running, but was always gonna be a gamble expecting them to be bang at it instantly. Hopefully gets another crack at it.

What's the point in hiring a relative novice (and a club legend at that) to then not have the bollocks to see it through? Ridiculous appointment given the circumstances. Difficult for Lampard to turn it down, of course, but that job would always have been open to him 5-10 years down the line.
