They really are on another level when it comes to lack of knowledge, denial and delusion.
It's a good job you didn't mention Heysel or he would be blaming everyone from the Belgian Police, UEFA, Juventus fans, the venue, the Belgian FA, Chelsea fans, The Tories etc. basically everyone but themselves.

Perhaps you should mention the loan their previous owners took out from RBS, who were government owned at the time, which saved them from going into administration.
If you ask him if this means they were state funded ( which technically they were) his head will probably explode.
I’ll add RBS to their long list : )

Haha.
Had a scouser rather upset on Facebook when I mentioned their Littlewoods money.
He got rather abusive rather quickly : )
He was spouting off about outside investment, so I mentioned the Littlewoods money.
Worked like a charm.
He then changed to us being cheats cos we failed ffp, I pointed out so had they, once but it would have been twice if it wasn’t for the money they offset for their imaginary stadium.
He quickly pointed out that they never built a new stadium and I was an idiot, why would they spend money on a new stadium when they were staying where they were? Haha and I’m the idiot.
I told him to google it and come back to me.
He did and come back with “well you’re still cheats”
Hahahaha candle fumes must affect their brains.
Not forgetting Sir David Moores who more recently sold his stake in the club to Gillett and Hicks for over 90 million. Sold it to them instead of Sheikh Mohammed and DIC allegedly.

Ha ha what a great move that was too.
Moores and his family had been involved with them for years and he sold out to those two cowboys who almost sent them under.

Funniest thing I saw was the banner on the Kop saying "Yanks out Dubai SOS" when they thought a middle east based investor was going to buy out the gruesome twosome whilst they're simultaneously sneering at City's investment by HRH Sheikh Mansour and Everton's investment through Mr Moshiri.

Don't forget the same family turned down an offer from Shinawatra in 2004. The irony is lost on them

I’d also mention that asking for government money to furlough their staff also makes them a wannabe state funded club no? Pmsl

All that, even though they aren’t English, so actually wanting foreign state funding....oh the irony

Their hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness knows no bounds.
After booing the national anthem at Wembley, they clearly don't recognise it so perhaps the cult should have their own.
How about "Victims" by Boy George or "Don't blame me" by TaylorSwift.

Fa cup finals
Lost to West Ham in 75 with Bobby Moore in the team didn't they?
Your average Redshirt fanboy would be sneering and pointing out that the definition of history is in fact the number of trophies won since a date specified by them rather than the excepted definition as a study of the past.

Great post Mike,
I pulled a Dipper (with a West Country accent) on Wembley Way at the 2019 CS when he started banging on about istree and I tied him in knots.
They're very good at airbrushing out events like Hysel and putting their own spin on things but it's easy enough to shut them up when you stick to the facts.
Fulham for example are the oldest professional club in London but your average plastic would say they've got no history because they haven't won any major trophies which is clearly bollocks.
Every club has history and I enjoy talking about it with fans of other clubs, just as I enjoy taking plastic Rags and Dippers apart when they demonstrate a lack of knowledge about their own.
Just recalled something after next half a century
In the 70s we used to do stewarding at Wembley. England matches FA cups RLCC Schoolboys internationals (earsplitting) Ladies hockey (even more earsplitting)
Mainly we did crowd packing for the football persuading people who had come in early not to use barriers but to go down to the bottom of the pen.
But Liverpool played there in the European Cup one year against Anderlecht l think and we had a different role. We were doubled up on each turnstile to prevent Liverpool fans crawling under the turnstiles and sometimes over the top though the barbed wire. Quite a lively job because there were lots of them without tickets many were pissed and because we were on the inside and we had to chuck them out through other dipper fans trying to stop us and there weren't many exits to chuck them out of.
Hang on. I must have dreamed this up. Everyone knows that dippers do not drink before big matches, always have tickets, and do not try to force their way in and cause problems inside.

Liverpool fc causing trouble since 1976....and much earlier.

I remember seeing footage of them at Wembley at the 86 Cup Final.
Fans already inside were reaching over barriers from an elevated position inside the stadium and lifting ticketless Dippers by the hands into the stadium in their droves.
This was 3 years before Hillsborough and 1 year after Heysel yet the Hillsborough enquiry made some kind of statement in the report saying that Liverpool fans didn't have a history of this type of behaviour.
Am I missing something?

Sorry l thought l had deleted 'Cup finals,'.
Fulham played West Ham. I had the pleasure of watching 2nd Division Southampton and the Arsenal beating the rags who had equalised with a minute to go before Graham Sunderland won it in time added.
One or two more but l am testing my memory rather than googling.

Saints v Rags 1976, a bit before my time but didn't the late Bobby Stokes score the winner in a team including the late Peter Osgood.
One of my mates told me that the Rags won a derby match not long after losing to Saints.
At the time we were league cup holders and thry were singing that they'd rather win the derby than the cup.
The sad twats can't even sing that these days:)

It will be a massive game for them when they play us next week, we can live with a draw but they can't, this time around the pressure is on them, we don't have to go all out, let them take risks and wait for opportunities from their makeshift center defence, we need pace in the front Sterling and Foden must start. A good time to play them and get a win there.
Do you remember when we played them at Etihad earlier this season?

All the pundits agreed that Littlewoods/Klippety would be happier with the point than we/Pep would be.

Well, now the boot is on the other foot and it just shows how things can change.

The Moores family basically bank rolled them out of the 2nd Division using money generated from Littlewoods Pools which was the only legalised form of gambling at the time ( for "Dirty Oil Money" read "Dirty Gambling Money")
They signed players like Ian St John for fees and paid wages that many established 1st Division clubs couldn't afford at the time.
Some older posters will know more but I'm sure they signed some other Scottish players and were referred to as The McMercenaries.
In their past history they were formed by a local business man ( John Houlding) who became their Tory Lord Mayor (so much for them being a big socialist club eh) who gave them a free stadium and bought them a whole team of top class players to enable them to win the league.
After he died, they faded into obscurity for years (with the exception of 1 league title just after the war) and were wallowing in Division 2 and didn't emerge as a force until they were bankrolled by The Moores family.
Loving the post, but the spacing in your brackets is an absolute disgrace.

Have some fucking self-respect.

Here’s the footage but it will be deleted soon.

“This event could bury the painful memories of a year ago in Brussels”

Of all the things said about 39 innocent people dying at a game at the hands of these scrotes they thought the world would forget because of a FA cup Mersey derby. The world hasn’t forgot but it’s true the memories are buried.

You can see the charge at the turnstiles.

Yes I was level with where Stokes scored from possibly offside but in those days there wasn't the technical analysis and effort to declare it off side we would get now. Doing a pub crawl that night in Camden area with two miserable rags was strange but I did my best to enjoy the moment.

Footage of them charging the turnstiles is incredible - was this ever brought as evidence at the Hillsborough enquiry???

Chester was full of people with plastic Scouse accents. I actually don't mind real Scouse accents but the plastic one just grates my ears. My ex-stepsister used to talk like that, as did I before I knew better.
Sorry FLAG but it’s the worst accent in the whole world, it’s like the body is trying to hold the words back but they are fighting their way out ...
