Micah Richards the pundit

Tonight Rio pointed out that Newcastle had 2 points from last 27 possible. "They would be in trouble if the league started 9 games ago". How much does he get paid for this.

It's mad, isn't it? This is stuff that if you heard someone propping up the bar saying it you'd turn away pityingly with your pint.

I've just watched his documentary on racism in football. No really new information but a down to earth and enquiring programme. The thing that amazed me most though was Gary Neville's interview. He acknowledged that he had just told Raheem to concentrate on his football rather than sitting down with him and listening to what he had to say and how he (Raz) was feeling. It is people thinking about what they have done, or not done, about racism that will start to help to eradicate it. Well done Micah.

Being biased to City shouldn’t be conflated with being a good pundit. People moan enough about the red shirt Mafia; this is the other side of the same coin.

Take off the blue tinted glasses and he’s a nice-but-dim guy who looks as if his mum got him ready.

As a pundit, I think he's better than I expected and has grown into the role.

That said, I expected him to be woeful and he's not much better than I expected.

He's on a par with Joleon "Yeah Definitely" Lescott.

For once I am not arsed about a pundits football knowledge, insightful tactical breakdown of play or scathing assessments of inevitable player errors.

I am merely enjoying his exuberant passion and joy at doing something he loves.

Happiness is infectious and something we all need more of.

He’s fuckin mint !

he is also pretty good. (Anyone who gets a rise out of Roy Keane has to have something about them)

Micah Richard: "Something about his (Tuchel) appointment doesn't sit right but I won't write him off"

Yes, because he replaced your sacked mate

Micah Richard: "What have Chelsea seen in Tuchel that convinces them he will outwit Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp over the course of a 38-game season?"

What did they see in Lampard to beat those two to the league title?

Well said.

I’ve just listened to a couple of minutes of a R5 interview and they played a voicemail message he’d left. He was ‘footballed out’! It made me laugh out loud. That is why I love him as a pundit. He can be serious but then he can make you laugh. We need laughter at the moment. :-)

i disagree. if you want all that then watch Soccer AM , or lobby the TV companies to start a 'Celebrity Footy Pundit Factor' show.

i like Micah, but i want insightful breakdowns of the play and to show me something that i didnt see, or understand. i can sit and laugh with my mates about footy all day long for free, thanks.

i know the pundits must be engaging and likable (and controversial sometimes), but the programme should, at its essence, be informative and intelligent and, dare i say, without bias....

Well aren’t you a bucket of giggles.

Each to their own I suppose.
