Wtf are people going on about Lukaku for in the Haaland thread? He's the opposite of a Pep player, shit technique, his 2nd touch is usually a tackle. City won't be signing the big lump, even if some of you rate him.

it's silly season, where 4 or 5 names get talked about for 3 months and then we sign 3 completely different players.

Please stop saying pep player. Anybody can be a pep player if pep is willing to work with the person and haaland is definitely not also a pep player if you want to go down that route

Bollocks, Lukaku shit technique, shit work rate defensively, wrong age for a City signing, but if you have a hard on for Lukaku good for you. Now why don't you toddle off and start a Lukaku thread if one doesn't already exist and you can explain why he would be a good fit for City.

I'd argue that Haaland isn't a Pep player either. Not many strikers are. Pep expects advanced players to contribute heavily to the build-up which I haven't seen too much on Haaland. But don't get me wrong, Haaland is quality. I would love it if we got him next summer especially because it means that Pep has signed off on it and he thinks he can play well in his system.

If we're getting Messi I think there's a big chance we give Aguero an extension so Messi can play with his mate. That surely is one of the things that makes us an attractive destination for him. This blocks any move for a big name striker for one year at least

Possibility of sending Jesus on loan in return for Haaland/Lukaku/whoever ?

Lukaku is the cheap option, board again considering stick to that "max £65m strategy". Its extremely disappointing that we are even linked to him.
its not the boards fault we are linked with him, why is it a disappointment ? it doesn't actually mean something when a twitter poster links us with him, your life must be full of disappointments if you go off twitter.
your full of shit when it comes to transfers, i haven't forgotten the outrage at not signing koub or kounde , and having to settle for dias.

Eh well, Pep did have Lewandowski. Think some at that time have thought he wasn't a "Pep player" but Pep managed to utilize him to excellent effect.

If the lad is good enough, the attitude is good enough, Pep will play him. This has always been the case with Pep.

Highly doubt Jesus will go anywhere. I think the club will have 3 or 4 options. One of which we don’t get Messi and Aguero leaves, and we go for Haaland, another might be we get Messi Aguero extends we don’t buy a centre forward, Another could be we get Messi Aguero leaves we buy a different striker that is happy to be rotated in and out. Or any mixture of the above, but in all scenarios think Jesus stays.

I hate these Lukaku rumours despite his record at Inter. He didn't cut it in the premiership. Can't believe for a moment this club would go from Aguero to Lukaku.

Lukaku scored 133 goals in 252 Premier league matches.

I'd hardly say thats a failure but obviously I'd rather we signed Haaland

Do we have 1 free foreign squad spot currently? If not, it makes some of your options (Messi+Aguero/New striker) unlikely. I can't see City forcing an exit of any players not named Mendy this summer - moving players on huge wages is too difficult on the current market, and City rarely do that anyway

If Messi comes, he most probably replaces Aguero, and that's it. If he doesn't sign, we probably extend Kun for a year and wait until 22 when new opportunities will arise (for example, Mbappe's contract ends that summer)

That's how see it, though the reality could be very different. As for an orthodox No9, I don't think Pep really needs such a player - versatile forward like Foden fits CF role better for me.

Agree that Jesus isn't going anywhere

Isn’t Lukaku up for a new contract? Agent doing what agents do! We ain’t after him.
Spot-on. Fabrizo Romano has strong links to Pastorello (Lukaku's agent). Nothing Romano writes can be trusted. Meanwhile Inter are on the bring of going bust and are conducting a fire sale. Lukaku is desperate for a way-out. I doubt if KDB would want him at City given the number of chances Lumpaku misses for Belgium.

Of the 21 A list players, Scott Carson is one of them. Currently we have 16+5, but a new striker could take Carsons spot and we would be at 17+4 instead. Foden can be on the B list for another season, and then replace Aguero summer of 2022. Messi replacing Mahrez

LW: Sterling and Jesus
CF: Haaland? and Aguero
RW: Messi and Torres

If he was that good, United wouldn't have sold him. The fact is he was getting progressively worse and looked unfit for a professional athlete. Don't know how he is doing well in Serie A, playing under a world class manager may have something to do with that, but have seen enough of him in the Premier league to say he is not good enough for us, especially as Aguero's replacement.
