I got my call 3 weeks ago. A couple of days later found that a neighbour a couple of years younger than the wife was also going to get their jab. Nagged the misses to ring and ask. Result was an invitation to come along and be vaccinated. Always call if it doesn't seem right.Sounds to me like he's been missed, if it was my dad I wouldn't be taking no for an answer, and if he's on medication his surgery will be on his prescriptions.
See her post #13,844 which confirms she was talking about Xmas get-togethers.Perhaps ask rather than tell @Healdplace what they mean?
My interpretation differs from yours, and yours I think cannot be deconvoluted from other concomitant changes so is not amenable to proof or disproof, and can only be a matter of judgement.

I did not get any follow up call. I got a txt inviting me to book the appointment myself online. My dad got his text on Tuesday but hasn't had the follow up call yet. Did anyone else have to wait a few days?
My text had a booking link on it to make an appointment. I had my first shot on Monday. My dad got his text on Tuesday but hasn't had the follow up call yet. Did anyone else have to wait a few days?

I think that's the way it works, the text had a link to book the jab, got mine on Monday and go to the drive through next to Hyde United at 11:18 today.I did not get any follow up call. I got a txt inviting me to book the appointment myself online.
Cheers. I agree with you. What I was objecting to was the suggestion that the January spike was caused solely by Christmas Day get-togethers.if so, fine, and I stand by cannot be deconvoluted from other concomitant changes so is not amenable to proof or disproof, and can only be a matter of judgement.
What can be said, is that on that judgement, everything we know about the virus tells us Christmas gatherings would be expected to increase transmission.
This is the body of the text:Hmmm. Interesting. I'll ring my dad and ask what it says exactly.
My wife had a text,it just said a certain place,a certain time, jab done....said if they couldn't make that time slot,to then book appointment.I think that's the way it works, the text had a link to book the jab, got mine on Monday and go to the drive through next to Hyde United at 11:18 today.
More and more of the virus in circulation will be the Kent variant. If there's this rotation going on then you would expect a decrease in the rate of decline as the virus as a whole becomes more contagious. Mitigating against that will be the effect of vaccines on transmission, and possibly other factors such as activity levels.New cases seem to be flatlining a bit now which is a bit of a concern as still too high to open things up properly.
Felt the same about my old fella, just the three weeks countdown to partial immunity to go:-)Cheers everyone! Typically, minutes after I posted that my dad actually got his call. Ha. Tuesday morning! I'm dead excited.
Agreed that was concerning as these seem to be popping up everywhere that a spate of new cases do. It is feeling a bit like the virus is getting desperate in face of our counter measures and seeking anything that might work.Yes I was more interested in the reference to the dominance of the new variant. Hopefully, Bury and Bolton can address this.
Yes some on here are indeed. Or politically opposed I guess.Yeah, but funnily enough the pro Sturgeon people on here were lauding her and saying how great she was, and how fantastic she didn’t use the “offered” terminology that Boris was using.
Full. Of. Shit.
