is Micah slowly turning into Hinchcliffe, the red rodent player of the year, give your head a wobble, trying too hard to be liked by the masses.
It’s very disappointing. Would it be unfair to say he appears to being ‘spit roasted’ between the written press and sky/bt.
He needs to be given proper advise as pandering to the masses will not improve his credibility.

Preston won the League and FA Cup double in 1888-89 and they were the only trophies going at the time - so logically a complete success to be fair (and they probably did it on a diet of fags and booze unlike todays namby-pambies)
The FA cup was a strange competition early on...called the Challenge Cup, winners had a bye to the final...a sort of Community Shield thing.

No doubt winning both trophies available shouldn't be scoffed at but only a few teams/games to win the league and cup dosen't really compare to modern day football.

If he does not tow the party line and continue to be studio jester, yes, possibly, as said he offers little else in my opinion.
Since he started punditry, I always thought he’d be better on soccer Saturday, seems more of a ‘laugh’ and less punditry skills required, not that I’ve wAtched it for years.

That said I like Micha a lot, but just have this nagging thought in my mind that he’s being set up to fall by the media

Totally agree, his personality would be perfect for Soccer Saturday.

Incredible ....the BBC running headline sports story on the serial assaulter... the notorious Welsh manager.

this alleged criminal and alleged sexual predator evidently never played for a club team.
I think they have inadvertently missed out the sentence ‘former junior Manchester City player’
It’ll be along shortly.

Bloody hell forgot about that..... thank the Lord I didn’t write the article some smug twat probably thought he was in for a Pat on the back or more from the Director General, but will probably now get assigned covering all Stalybridge Celtics remaining games...... aargh could be a problem with that

There we have the first indication Peps comment yesterday have given the media oxygen. Arsenal blogger on R5 says “as Pep says, they have unlimited funds” (paraphrased). No correction from presenter of course.
I hope Pep and the club were in control of him saying what he did.
I understand the power of taking the narrative but I’m also sure there are plenty of journos rubbing their hands for the next chance to link the money spent with where it “came from”...
How does he answer that? He was quite careful in only mentioning his 4 years and not prior spending. But that’s far too sophisticated an argument. I hope he’s not played right into a game of never ending whataboutery. Abu Dhabi petrodollars are far worse than Dubai petrodollars, pot noodle dollars, Russian mafia dollars, Iranian dollars, Saudi dollars, US laundered dollars, offshore dollars .... Very difficult to control that unless he just goes back to monosyllabic Pep.
Let’s hope we’ve thought it through.
