What I said was that the people responsible for media relations should be taking proper action to protect the good name and commercial interests of our club. Great to know that there’s an awful lot going on “behind the scenes” that we don’t know about, cos what I do know is that there is fuck all visibly going on in front of the scenes, not that I can see anyway. I think believing that the club are doing a good job at protecting our club’s reputation, all of it behind the scenes as you put it, is a far more foolish look. I would also say that I wasn’t ranting, I can rant, but wasn’t on this issue. I will spend a bit more time researching exactly what Kloss and Heggie’s roles are when I get chance, but the way I see it, day in and day out certain newspapers and other media people are making false and damaging claims about our club, and publicly we do little or nothing about it. I see that as neither a rant nor foolish. I asked Garry Cook why do we put up with all the shite thrown at us and don’t appear to be fighting back, his answer was not to take them on. Think the Pisscan bullied these shysters so that they were terrified of him and went full brown nose on him. I think PL rules on media may have changed and that its mandatory for managers to attend press conferences.
There is an issue with the perception of our PR department having all the backbone of a slug though. Immediately after clinching an unprecedented treble Pep was asked if he took backhanders. You would reasonably expect punitive action to be taken on the disrespectful motherfucker but our way seems to be to leave the best coach around to deal with these jackals in a foreign language.
The narrative might change swifter if we came down like a ton of bricks on these turds; equally any such action would play into their preprepared lines.
But I'd feel happier if we had some legal rottweilers in the wings ready to pounce on these nonces' dangly bits.
