Regional Scoreboard:

Every region finally below 1000 today.

North West still the most but drops the most too - 275 to 880.

This is the lowest since last Summer I think - many many months ago.

Other regions:

East - down 96 to 447

London - down 200 to 478

South East - down 190 to 490

South West - down 11 to 308

East Midlands down 111 to 812

West Midlands down 156 to 743

Yorkshire down 119 to 790

North East down 134 to 326

Schools back in a week so bound to be an increase, just got to hope we keep it under control.
Of course but we need to remember most schools are operating at about 40-50% capacity this time since January so the impact along with the vaccines should mean the impact in cases and any hospitalisations (relative to Sep) will hopefully be less.

Greater Manchester Summary:

A good day here - lowest numbers for six months or so.

Falls 142 to just 374. And NW % drops 2.2% to 42.5% lowest split in two weeks.

Every single borough under 100. Though Manchester only just up a bit to 99.

After that Stockport - with another fall and a week to week drop too was next highest at 41.

Everyone else in the 20s and 30s with Wigan at 30 down to its lowest in many weeks

And Bury - who just days ago the Manchester Evening News was (wrongly by then) saying was in big trouble - it had been 5 days before on the data they were using as up to date) - recording today the lowest case number in GM for many a while - just 18

For once I can say everyone had a great day in GM.

Frustrating not knowing the test numbers until tomorrow though as they are often lower at weekend.

But we know them from the other regions and their positivity ratings all fell Sunday to Sunday so I suspect that will mean tests are not the cause of this drop in England either.

Here are the cases reported every Sunday in 2021 from 3 January onward

Showing the remarkable drop

54, 990 v 54, 940 v 38, 598 v 30, 004 v 21, 088 v 15, 845 v 10, 972 v 9834 v 6035
