And hopefully (4) and/or (5) aren't happeningI would expect a rebound in proportion of older deaths/ severe disease, but that looks like absolute numbers.
Some speculation on potential causes:
1. Just a blip- numbers are small
2. Israeli overall cases are not under control, and this is the residual unvaccinated plus those for whatever reason not protected.
3. Vaccinated people are taking a lot more risks and getting a lot more infections as a result
4. Vaccine effectiveness wears off fast
5. New vaccine resistant variant spreading.
My money on (2) plus a bit of (3) and maybe some (1). Israeli positive test rate doesn't look good, currently 4x ours and rising if anything. I much prefer our current approach of driving right down with lock down as well as vaccinating.
Apparantly our desth rate is so high because we're all fat.
It would make sense. Be interesting to know what the vaccine take up has been for over 60s in IsraelI've not heard anything from Pfizer, but the person who created the graph (or I presume he created it), seems of the opinion that its to do with numbers of people who are unvaccinated in that age group which is causing the rise. He is otherwise very positive when it comes to vaccine effects.

I take it from your last sentence that Israel isn't in lockdown and some restrictions have been lifted?
My wife's going there for the same thing, she had Antibodies last June and has been tested twice since and still had themI had the Imperial College REACT test which showed I had antibodies but I'd had Covid anyway. I now have a follow up letter asking me to participate in a follow up at the Village in Cheadle where I will be asked to
"Provide a blood and urine sample, height, weight, waist circumference, grip strength, lung function and blood pressure measured"
It's for the genomics to better help identify new treatments or vaccines, I suppose they are looking at what criteria makes people susceptible to the virus.
I'm definitely taking part, I feel it's so important to help in any little way possible.

Her son is an ER doctor in Seattle and treated the first US outbreak.
Though I considered her quite stable then I thought she was nuts when she said I was being too unreactive!
She went out bought 4 months of food - including dog food for her dog - a full hazmat suit and a gun.
She said it will be like The Walking Dead her son says.

We've lost 3 elderly relatives, all had underlying conditions but caught Covid, this bollocks about Covid alone !! They would still be alive without Covid, irrespective of the ongoing issues, having time with families, planning for eventualities.
