I agree with everything you've said. Worries me because I think the vaccine with reduce illness but not stop transmission.

I honestly don't see life ever being 'normal' again.

I mean, do you ever see full football stadiums again for eg?

Yes, 10000%. Even in my most negative moments, and ive had plenty, I've never even considered this a realistic possibility. The virus will go endemic, and eventually we will move on. It'll be painful, and it already is, but that's life and that's pandemics. Science will trump it, as will human will.

I live not too far from Blackburn and could tell you why I think this is the case.

You have to dance round it but I will tell you.

mosques and the Vast majority of the Asian community not wearing masks. Several of my Asian friends have asked me if I want to come for a meal at a lock in restaurant and they have not been worried or respectful about the virus at all and yet they are telling me several people they know have died?!

I am not getting it.

That is possibly the most grimly pessimistic post I've read on here.

Life will get back to normal but we may have the equivalent of an additional flu to deal with. Flu kills people all year round and in a low year it is around 7000 deaths but in a bad year its around 22,000. Life will go on because it has to.
I hope so pal, suppose I'm just scared but I really hope you're right.

I'm really greatful to people more optimistic than me. I need to be slapped sometimes.

Come on. Hands up. Who's hacked his account?

I accept that but there is also a load of NF / FLA types in Blackburn who won’t follow the rules. Maybe, Blackburn has a perfect storm of Covidiots across their Communities. I used to be a regular visitor to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and it’s the only hospital I know where the visitors look worse than the patients.

When people say human will can triumph the virus. We're not really the ones fighting it. We're the home front. The 'army' are the doctors, particularly those in A&E. There is no more will we can extract from these people than they already give. They work insane ours and suffer insane stress even in 'peacetime'. They are human beings.

30% of A&E doctors now show signs of PTSD. They're being run into the ground. That's a real limiting factor on how things go. That's honestly why I think Boris has had no choice, and why he's sobering up a bit.
