United (H) Post Match Thread

Not really going to matter in terms of the league.
And Pep has done an amazing job this season but at some point someone has to say to him "Really Pep?! Fucking Noddy (with a much poorer team) has got one over you again?!"

I think it's looking with the benefit of hindsight to be overly critical of the team selection. Hard to suggest picking KDB for a big match and an in-form Mahrez is totally out there. The team was certainly attack minded and looks good on paper.

However, it appears increasingly likely that City will have to do a lot of thinking in the summer about the direction they take and how deBruyne fits into that. There's no doubt Kev is world class but it also can't be denied the midfield three of Rodri, Gundogan and Bernardo is currently City's most balanced and effective midfield, by a fair margin I would say. Of course Kev will improve but he's pushing 30 now and picking up niggly injuries that keep him out a couple months at a time will start to have an effect.

I don't know what the solution is, I'd certainly not endorse getting rid, the guy's a wonderful player but I do worry it might become more of an issue over time.

The standard of our shooting is shocking. Put Kane in that team and we're a different proposition.

Painful to watch even though the result is probably meaningless, but that was a return to our early season form and its fcking embarrasing to lose to this shower at home all the time. We could play all day today and not score, and Raz missing sitters when its crucial is getting worrying again with the cl coming up.

A few other shameful performances too, not naming names as you can see as well as I can(I hope). Cant even blame the ref/var, this one is all on the performance, is Pep trying to keep ole employed??? We were always gonna lose at some point though and our recent run has probably secured us the pl title.

Meh............ just stay in, drown yer sorrows, and dont talk to rag cnts or watch any media.......oh, and prey that this seasons Pep selection brain fart is now out of the way.

People are emotional.. but Souness just nailed it.. City played how they will always play and should not change as they will win almost all games playing that way as it took utd to be almost perfect to win. But City won’t care as they will win over the course of 9 months.

We need to keep it in perspective. One game that we lost. So what.. we move on.
We did not play how we always play..... otherwise it would 6 0

Our achilles heel is going behind. There cant be another top flight team in Europe with a poorer record when going being.

As good as we've been this season, its still a major issue for us.

As others have said..down to Pep....Foden Silva Walker Fern should have started..What was Jesus doing in the box?...I said this before Pep does not seem go understand derbies.....Anybody but them ....
If Palace and Sheffield United can make them look like the shite they are, what is our excuse.. ?

Truly pathetic.....

Fern should not have started. Rodri was great..

When you get to a certain age, and watching the amazing team we have becomes, it becomes less about the defeat but more the manner of the defeat. Just expected a bit more fight. And before anyone cracks on and talks about wet fannies, fuck off, this is Derby day, emotions count!

Well, that’s ruined my Sunday. Yet again Pep has tinkered with the team to our detriment. Every man and his dog knew they would play on the counter. Brain farts by Jesus for the penalty and Cancelo completely sold himself for the 2nd.
Walker should have started to mitigate their counter. Silva & Foden should have started. Sterling needs a spell on the sidelines. KDB is not right yet - stats show we have a better win % without him. I’m not saying he’s gone to shit but he needs to be eased back in.
We should win the war but I think we’re missing an out and out striker. For me, we need to go all-in for Haaland if Aguero’s time is up.
I know I sound like a right fanny but we absolutely gifted them fuckers that result.
Agreed. We beat ourselves today. They are quick up front and Walker was the obvious foil. Never mind. Onwards

Come the summer, I'll be fine.

But not tonight.

Slagging off KDB is nobbish, he is one of the best players in the world and needs game time, these are the players that win trophies. We lost today because a striker made an utter nobbish tackle and a striker missed a sitter.

‘However Foden and Silva have to start
I think you're a bit out to the tune of one goal there mate. "Striker scores a sitter" and we lose 2-1.

There can be no excuses today.

All of our players we poor or terrible. No-one gets more than a 5 and some get 0. Pep however gets -1. Dreadful performance from our manager from pre-match to post-match interview and everything inbetween. Inexcusable lack of passion and fight, abysmal starting line up choices, wrong subs and too late subs. Dross.

Bad day at the office but we still created so many chances that should've been put away. Two bits of poor defending and an off day in front of goal.

It happens but we go again and put it right midweek.

Can't help but think we're a better team without KDB in it right now. Think a spell on the bench could be good for all concerned. A few not at it but I think that it was the worst I've seen from him.
