Jack Grealish

He would be a great signing.

he’s be competing with Bernardo or on the wings for me. The other option is to move foden to the middle, have grealish on the wing

we could also be selling mahrez

We are after Grealish means messi is not fancing to come to us.

It looks increasingly like Messi will stay at Barca, and, whilst I'd still welcome him at City, his age is an issue so the moment may have passed for him try his hand in England. Messi should have had the brains and the balls to come to us 3 or 4 years ago.

If we are in for Grealish, it's an alternative to Messi. JG is no Messi of course but he is a very talented player who has not reached his peak.

I like JG. He needs to be at a club with better players where he gets less attention on the pitch (if he thinks he's going to get half those free kicks wearing a blue shirt, he's crazy) but he isn't a defensive midfielder. I love Dinho, but time is catching up with him, so we need another DM and there are a few candidates (I thought the 2 at the base of Milans midfield looked ok, last night).
It looks like for a lot of games it will be 2 'forwards' from Raz, FFS Marez, Serge (or an other) Gabby and Torres. (not including kids)
With one DM, that leaves KDB, Mr Whippy, Bernado, Phil (without including Cancelo or Alexs) thats 3 from 4 from midfield, so we could do with another if we are being greedy!

But lets face it - it's Pep - he could come up with something we haven't even considered yet. He may even bring Wesley S or Isco in! I hear he loves to boil piss on BM.

Hey @tolmie's hairdoo, is it a case that if all 3 of Haaland, Messi and Grealish want to join City and their clubs agree to let them leave that City would sign all three this summer?

Or would you say Grealish would only be signed if Messi didn't join City?

I just don't know where all the money would be coming from mate.

Knowing who we are tracking is the easy part, the club clearly has an idea which players might want to be moved out, but won't know for sure how feasible it is.

Good player but not for me. Too much hype and dives more than Tom Daley
Agreed. He'll end up slowing our attacks by getting too many fouls besides it'll be embarassing and tedious to watch him swan dive every 5 mins. Also, you can bet the media will start highlighting this as soon as he leaves Villa.

Rather we spend our money on Haarland.

Who said it’s an either or? What if we spend money on both Grealish and Haaland?

He’s a fantastic player. Very intelligent. Versatile. Has an edge. Intimidating calves. What’s not to love...

There is some talk Grealish negotiated a £70m buy out clause when he renewed last summer.

If you factor in City giving up the Luiz option to buy at £25m this summer, it is not beyond the realms Grealish would cost quite a bit less.

tolmie = Martin Blackburn lol

Interesting comments regarding players possibly wanting to move on - wondering if that is directed towards Sterling - and Grealish as a replacement

I'd say that if we're banking on big sales for certain incoming deals then those deals won't end up happening.

The Douglas Luiz part sounds strange. What are City going to do?
Give us Grealish for a good price or we'll trigger the buy-out clause of one of your players!?

Makes no sense for us to trigger Luiz clause unless we actually want him?

We line up a third party, trigger it and sell him on?
