Done, going ok and felt twinge in calf at 4 miles so had to slow it down, just glad to finish. Well done everyone for getting out there. Hoping those who couldn't finish bit get back out again soon. Some brilliant times
About time you pulled yer finger out mate, after your week of "tapering" Ive got you down as the favouriteLoads of absolutely brilliant running this morning! So inspiring. I'm off to do mine now.
Ah it was just a little 15 mile legshaker tho, nothing too strenuousDidn't you do 15 miles or something yesterday, Gaz? Then you pull this out of the bag when running on tired legs! You're on fire right now.

Nice one. It looks like I just pippwdSub 50!! Yes.... made up with that 49:45 won’t let me upload image for some reason.
Nice one. It looks like I just pipped you to the post. 10.18 km in 49:52 for me with a time for 10 km of 49:02 apparently according to Strava. Does it take your fastest 10k within the total distance? Stu mentioned putting it on race mode but I could not find it. I set strava running as normal then faffed about putting phone in arm holder. After 1/4 mile it came loose and nearly flew off so stopped to pratt about and put it right. I thought a typical race disaster was looming and it would end up in canal !!Sub 50!! Yes.... made up with that 49:45 won’t let me upload image for some reason.
Well done mate.Nice one. It looks like I just pippwd

Anyway, all good and great to push myself for a change and suffer. Glad when it finished. Pleased with the time of sub 50.
Great running mate!!First 10k I’ve done in a couple of years, think I’d put fear in my mind for some bizarre reason, plus then knowing Heaton (thanks @inchy14) is a “difficult” course, but actually found it relatively easy. I’m in better shape than I thought. Splits show I had far more left in tank than I should have had as last 2k’s were my fastest, could have easily knocked a couple of mins off that time.
Anyway, thanks to Bluemoon, as I wouldn’t have got round to doing this 10k otherwise, really enjoyed it.
Well done to everyone who has been or is going out to do it!

Sounds good. You could improve loads I think. Work out a faster course and get the pace right so it is hard and pushing yourself but ideally get a negative split.First 10k I’ve done in a couple of years, think I’d put fear in my mind for some bizarre reason, plus then knowing Heaton (thanks @inchy14) is a “difficult” course, but actually found it relatively easy. I‘ve only ever done 3 x 10k‘s before today, all official ones - Bury, Cheshire and Tatton Park. Plus I’ve done one half marathon, the Great Manchester Run in 2019. I’ve probably done 500 x 5k’s over the last 5 years since I started running, so I’m so used to that distance.Sounds good. You could improve loads I think. I do it once a week at least mate, think if I’m going out running I may as well do 50 minutes if I was going to do 30....I‘ve only ever done 3 x 10k‘s before today, all official ones - Bury, Cheshire and Tatton Park. My best 10k was the Cheshire which I did in 54 mins, but that is the flattest of flat runs, hence why I tried to play safe today as wasn’t overly sure of my current fitness levels as I’ve had various niggles that I’ve been continually running through. But happy enough with 58 mins as that’s the pace I intended going for, but just pleasantly surprised how easy I found it and then of course you just regret not pushing harder.
Really enjoyed it though which is main thing and I’ll make it a regular distance now, think I’ll plan to do it once a month.

Once a month will do me, lol, I’m a bigger lump than you.I do it once a week at least mate, think if I’m going out running I may as well do 50 minutes if I was going to do 30....
Flying that mate, nice work, plus the scenery looks a little more glamorous than princess parkway on a dull sunday morning!!42:22 which was better than I expected. With no parkruns, events seems an age since I pushed myself so found it, mentally, quite tough going.
Well done everyone, some tremendous effort and thanks @BlueHammer85 for organising.
I went through town and out up to Maine Rd then back down Oxford rd to Fountain st. nice long stretch to finish... like you say @franksinatra certainly has a more scenic route than us!!Flying that mate, nice work, plus the scenery looks a little more glamorous than princess parkway on a dull sunday morning!!
