Enjoyable nonsense about Alfred, Batman's man servants early days
Enjoyable nonsense about Alfred, Batman's man servants early days
After posting this I’ve started the American one and I promise it is nowhere near as good as the original. That costs a tenner to buy on prime though6 episodes into Utopia on prime and Jesus this is close to home with the world this past year.
Its worth sticking with, but i fear you will be back to report on your disappointment with the ending and the build up.I’m 7 episodes into Your Honor and I think it’s distinctly average, bordering on wank, I’d have binned it if it had any more than 3 episodes left, but I may as well see it through now. Badly let down by some shite acting and casting selections - the crime boss, Jimmy Baxter, is an appalling actor with dreadful facial expressions for example.
Top actor...re the Terror, I was struggling to recall where I'd the seen the actor who plays Captain Francis Crozier.
Turns our he's Jared Harris (son of Richard Harris) and played Lane Pryce in Mad Men...

I lasted a few episodes of the 1st season when I originally tried to watch it. Went back about a year later and bam...stick with it. The first season is rather slow but s2 onwards is excellent.
Re:The Expanse
I didn't finish the first episode first time around but am glad I picked my way through Series 1 eventually. It drags a bit, but the actors and atmosphere really are outstanding. The sound design and score is amazing through good speakers. Series 2 is supposed to be very different and mixed reviews.
BTW Series 1 score was by a very talented ambient/instrumental artist called Markus Fellstrom, who died shortly after the broadcast aired. He has a couple of great dark ambient records on the incredible Miasmah label. Stunning late night headphones listening.
You sum it up well mate, the one big stand out for me is that nothing about the younger Alfred that is like the older one (that I can remember anyway).Anybody watching Pennyworth ?

No but it has The Haxan Cloak doing music and audio, pretty good recommendation for a spooky time there. I'll definitely be watching this one.Hmm... I'm just going through Apple TV+ and a show caught my eye but I'm not sure why.
It's called 'Calls'. You don't watch anything (besides subtitles), you hear it.
It's strangely interesting (and I like 'interesting' to be honest). I believe it was a French show first as I've done a little digging and, just based off the first ep, I'm torn between watching it or listening it!
Does anyone who's seen it have an opinion on it?
Ooops I meant The Terror! I'm still struggling to get to grips with The Expanse. Jared Harris again.watch the first season again the amount you miss first time round will surprise you. My favourite tv show ever.
It's good but not a patch on the book.Just ‘literally’ started the Terror (paused as I was on a call).
Thought it was a new BBC drama but appears it’s made by AMC (Mad Men was my favourite show).
Looks quite dark & moody (music is perfect) so I suspect I’ll enjoy this...
I think he is more based on Micheal Caine's version ie cockneyYou sum it up well mate, the one big stand out for me is that nothing about the younger Alfred that is like the older one (that I can remember anyway).
Ah I see , thanks for that, was really struggling to make any connection to the old one I remember .I think he is more based on Micheal Caine's version ie cockney
I’ll try & dig the book out. It's good but not a patch on the book.
Me & boy really bonded over WandaVision.'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'.
Hm, I've got to say, it's a real different experience watching this, coming from 'WandaVision', but it does pull you back into the known world of the Marvel Universe.
One aspect I REALLY enjoyed was the diversity. That, in of itself, shouldn't have been 'amazing', but it had its own wonder just for that aspect alone; a normal world where you wouldn't notice it.
There's much more to break down about the show, but I will see how it pans out before giving some other observations.
Finished S3 of Ozark last night. I thought this season was superb throughout - a real ratcheting up of tension and can't wait to see where they take it for the 4th and final season. Onto Breaking Bad tonight to see what all the fuss is about.
I did consider that, but have decided to watch it in the same order as everybody else....... if I get that far.#startwithBCS
