Indeed.
I'm not hugely fussed with having to wear one and I quite enjoyed it when I upgraded to sleeker cotton versions to match the rest of my outfits.
But I had yet another moment in the supermarket check out yesterday when I struck up a conversation with the woman serving me and struggled to hear each other so conversations are a bit stunted.
This is literally the few moments I'm in the store so no biggy...just becoming a little jaded now.
I do miss those human interactions. Was mooching about town yesterday for half an hour as my missus was giving blood, so I decided just to walk about. Popped into a coffee shop to grab a quick takeaway one. There was some filming going on on one of the side streets right behind it. Tried to casually ask if they knew much about it while waiting. No one could hear each other. Muffled mess. Gave up quickly. No big deal, stood there in silence, got my coffee. Left... just a bit miserable innit? A soulless, transactional existence. Everyone stood naturally back from each other, no smiles, no conversations. It's not living. It suits some people, I get it, but I do like a brief chat with a stranger or someone in a shop. It can be nice! It kills all that and life is lesser for it.
