I would say she is more of a threat to the Labour party than the Torries, as if she gets her way both Scotland and England will become one party states which would be disaster for both countries politically.

The irony in all this was Blairs Lab government gave her the devolution soapbox to drive her nationalism and destroy the labour vote north of the border.
Labour were destroyed when they they supported the no vote in the last referendum.

The country was a natural home for them until they sided with the Tories on that one issue. They wont be forgiven for at least a generation for that. Possibly never.

The comparison is false. Even if she was guilty of everything she is accused of x 10, she would still appear as George Washington compared to Johnson and what he and his friends have done to us.

A country “ready to take off its Clark Kent spectacles” and act “as the supercharged champion” of X, Y, Z. A country on stilts – pretending that we had a test and trace system that was head and shoulders above the rest of the world. A country performing U-turns on the teetering unicycle of Johnsonian buffoonery – A-levels, school meals, foreign health workers and more. A country of tumbling catastrophes. Trampolining absurdities. Go to work. Don’t go to work. A country proroguing parliament illegally here, trying to break international law there. Paying its citizens to “eat out to help out” in the midst of a lethal pandemic. A country testing its eyesight in lockdown by driving to distant castles with infant and spouse during a travel ban. A country whose leadership stitched up the NHS in the morning and then clapped for them at night. A country opening schools for a single day, threatening to sue schools, shutting schools. A country on holiday during its own emergency meetings. A country locking down too late; opening up too early. A country sending its elderly to die in care homes. A country unwilling to feed its own children. A country spaffing £37bn up the wall one moment and refusing to pay its own nurses a decent salary the next. A country doing pretend magic tricks with the existence of its own borders – no, there won’t be a border in the sea; oh yes there will; oh no there won’t; it’s behind you …. A country of gimmicks and slapstick and hollow, honking horns.

She has a great deal to do before she comes within a country mile ...

I don’t really get the metric. Should we let a murderer off jail because they only killed one person and weren’t as bad as say the west’s?

Also we didn’t send elderly to die in care homes (unless that was their usual place of residence and they requested to go “home” to die). Did some elderly patients go to care homes with COVID? Almost certainly. Was it policy/systematic? no, it wasn’t. And the nurses are offended by any suggestion otherwise.

There wasn't much they could do. If they'd supported Yes they'd have been ridiculed at Westminster, voting to break the union and deny themselves all those seats they used to rely on. I actually think they did the right thing in supporting NO but needed to stand up with some sort of policy that distinguished themselves from the tories. The only image I can concoct of their debacle in that vote is Ed stood in the background looking gormless.

All the same. IMO anybody who wants to be a career politician has an ego too big for the job. Are we talking about policy disasters or integrity here Saddleworth? As an aside I also think there is a bit of a nasty vindictive streak to Ms Sturgeon, the blame the English and Westminster culture that she is so fond of but has worked hard and done well to disguise in recent times? The OTT celebrations accidentally caught on camera when Swinson lost her seat and the ardent nationalism and anti English discrimination in some of her policies all of which don't sit well with me. Can you imagine the uproar if Johnson was so brazen on similar issues? She's a tartan Farage!

But we are never going to agree on this as I guess you are a fully paid up SNP fan ? And these days I distrust and dislike all politicians.
I’m a supporter of independence rather than SNP. I can recognise that she is imperfect. She is however not in the same league as Johnson for incompetence or moral turpitude. Just lay their ‘crimes‘ against each other.

Care home residents in hospital were knowingly sent back to hospitals without testing. They were sent back to make space knowing they would carry the virus with them. That’s fact mate. That happened in both England and Scotland.

So if Sturgeon resigns then the entire Westminster Cabinet should go. I would be happy with that as an outcome.

I don’t disagree that patients were discharged with COVID to care homes, but it should never be the case they knowingly did so mate. I know there was a rush to free up beds in acute hospitals, perhaps add in to that lack of processes to follow around COVID testing and it’s easy to see how it happened. Mrs MB discharged one of her patients to a hospice who later tested +ve for COVID, she was mortified.

Back to Sturgeon. I think the calls for her to go will increase, I don’t they’ll will necessarily damage the party if she turned a deaf ear, should she decide to step down their are very able politicians in the SNP who can take the party forward.

This from Scotland. I have read similar reports covering England.

'A total of 338 patients with a diagnosis of covid-19 were discharged from Scottish hospitals into care homes in the three months from March this year, says a report from Public Health Scotland.1

The discharges were necessary to free up space in hospitals for covid-19 patients but some care home owners have claimed that it introduced the virus into their premises, causing almost 2000 deaths across Scotland.2

Public Health Scotland says that most of the 3599 discharges that took place in the busiest month of March were among people who had never been tested. Of the 650 who were tested, 78 were positive, but the discharges still went ahead.'

So it did happen. Yes you can understand why because of pressure on hospital space to increase ICU space. Who are the able politicians in the SNP to take the party forward. I can think of maybe one or two but none approaching her capability. She won't resign.

What was this alleged leaked 5-4 vote about then?

Don't answer that. We all know. It will all backfire on the Tories at Westminster now, and don't they fucking deserve it!

well they have just ensured that there will be a huge win for the SNP in Scotland - fielding that massive bellend Bailey in London is costing them dear there too.

Piss boiling at Tory HQ.

She probably feels like we did after the CAS verdict.
To be fair she showed the same confidence before the verdict, we showed before CAS, with our lets see what an independent judgement says.

Sturgeon was the first news story on BBC 6:00 News last week, when it was all her guilt and demise, but oddly enough it’s fifth story down tonight. Sarah Smith sounds surprisingly despondent.

Well that was fun while it lasted.

Enough crap has been thrown and some of it will have stuck. An element of damage will have been done, the various headlines won't get rewritten, etc etc.

And i think it is the best Nicola could have hoped for, in terms of outcome.

Think the parliament commitee will fling some more mud, but a partisan finding along party lines a few weeks before an election will be trumped by the independent report.
Think in the election campaign the opposition would be wise to back off making it a campaign on this. Think Labour and Liberals may back off. Not sure the Tories will as they don't seem to have much else to cling on to and that could well backfire on Ross and Davidson if they make it personal.
