Think the parliament commitee will fling some more mud, but a partisan finding along party lines a few weeks before an election will be trumped by the independent report.
Think in the election campaign the opposition would be wise to back off making it a campaign on this. Think Labour and Liberals may back off. Not sure the Tories will as they don't seem to have much else to cling on to and that could well backfire on Ross and Davidson if they make it personal.

They've already come out and said she's not off the hook yet, so they will not put the sticks down eventhough that horse is pretty much dead. And the headlines will keep coming, if nothing else of their big claims.

The issue there is that very few potential SNP voters read the Tory mouthpiece papers.

Very much, my wife is a bit more of a waverer votinng SNP in a few weeks and if Sturgeon had been found guilty and had to go I don't think she would have done. However she's seen tonights news and that enough for her. She won't take the slightest bit of notice of any mail or Express headlines she sees now over the next month or so, nor of Davidson standing up in Holyrood trying to flog the thing to death.

They don't need to. For one, they are national paper headlines, everyone is exposed to them. And not all voters are that decided.

Besides, the Tories aren't targeting snp voters. They are targeting any unionist willing to vote against the snp and prepared to believe that the Tories are their only credible saviour and antidote to the nats. They are simply hoping to hoover up unsure lib-dem and lost labour voters, for the biggest share they can get. Attacking the snp makes them look 'strong' while discrediting other union wide parties.

Douglas Ross on C4 News was hysterical earlier - like a TV ad for shit broadband trying to perpetuate his myth but we were only getting every 3rd word. If they make it personal they are stupid - just look at how personal attacks from Bailey on the London mayor - ably abetted by Tory HQ have strengthened Khan's position.

If it wasn’t so sad it would be funny. Ross is not a member of Scottish parliament but throws bricks at alleged corruption here. He is of course a Westminster mp and has the responsibility to call out corruption in his own parliament. Oh, must have missed that. Hypocrite.

The Tories have been shown for the lying disgusting bastards they are. They and Labour will pay the price in six weeks. They prejuded and used the British Broadcasting Conservatives Propoganda News channel. Who gave their lies unfettered coverage. Funny how their Tory ministers who have been found guilty of breaking ministerial codes get a free bye. The Tories are shameless, they are despicable and the only people who will vote for them are those who would accept Tory rule over independence.

As I said, not even those bastards st the BBC will be able to derail their Tory and Labour lackies getting handed their fucking scummy arse.

Ruth Davidson is sleazying off to.the Lords. Good fucking riddance you horrible bastard.

Not been commenting on here but saw this earlier and thought it pretty much sums this whole thing up. Of course, my deepest sympathies are with the innocent women involved in all of this but secondly I can't believe the witch hunt I've seen against Sturgeon, from the Tories and some prominent sections of the media in particular. Douglas Ross and Ruth Davidson are vile, vile people. Imagine using such a despicable subject to manipulate someone out of their position without a seconds thought to being genuine or sincere.

It is pathetic, it really is. And embarrassing.

I could get posturing and threatening a vote of no confidence, at a time when the allegations first broke. There was a degree of free for all mud-slinging, uncertainty and lack of detail that could leave enough there for anyone to beleive whatever is served up. They got plenty of mileage out if it, and damage done till the shit started to clear.

But to actually still attempt to go through with, knowing fine damn well they stood no chance at all, and to still try use and milk that, is mind boggling. Shows how little they have and how utterly desperate they are. Truly shocking.

And people will still vote for them, and not for their policies or any positive hopes, such is the polarized situation and that is how entrenched the positions are.

I'll be interested to see how London BBC spin it as the election results pile in.

Like they did with Corbyn faking him wearing a Russian hat outside the Kremlin. I fully expect Jeremy Vine to be announcing the results with a mock up of sturgeon as William Wallace.

Well what a surprise. For the first time in months the BBC News channel is not running Sturgeon will need to resign bullshit. You would think that the story would move to this despicable failed witchunt and those responsible for it. The main fly in the ointment of going down that road is they were front and centre helping the witchunt along. Complete and utter bastards. The effect it has had on the Tories credibility. Nothing. The effect it has on Sir Establishment Starmer, who also prejudged the actual report by Hamilton. Nothing. He too hoped that Sturgeon, who I also warned not to believe the shit they threw at her, would fall and again, as is his want, sided with the Tories as he has since he bent the knee. Scottish Labour, a ramshackle of ineptitude and suicidal tendencies, stepped back from the Tories vote of no confidence, but for them it is too late. They were complicit and no amount of trying to leave the Tories to carry the can of shit will work. I remember many times on here how the media trying to promote Ruth Davidson was bought by so many. I did try to tell them, not to be hoodwinked by this charm offensive, that she was an inept **** of no integrity. This episode has proved me right. This to me is symptomatic of how I believe English people not only get sold a pup, but keep going back to get more when the first one dies. Looking at the opinion polls suggests that even after all the utter fuck ups Johnson and his merry wankers have forced upon us, he is still.ahead. I will accept that Sir Establishment doesn't give a viable option, but for fuck sake, vote for anybody but them. As a country, we haven't voted Tory in any majority since 1955. Most on here weren't even born. We have had their number for 66 years. With Labour, it was once said, that they could put up a dog as candidate and still win. Now, their collusion with Tories has seen them go from 48 MP's to 1. Starmer has put even that solitary representative in peril. Six weeks from now, we will see how my country reacts to this. My hope is it will once again show them that pulling the wool and selling pups is not a viable strategy with us. I just wish I could say the same for the rest of the UK. But I can't and so Independence is the only option.. A lifetime of being run by people we loathe should never be an option, and England continually voting them in gives us no choice.
One positive thing to come out of this last year, is the fact that people all over these islands have seen Sturgeon as she is, and not as the BBC at al tried to paint her. If she was English she would be leading the opposition there too and she would win. The same can never be said of Starmer. We are lucky to have her. So thank you Tories, BBC, Sky, The Spectator, The Mail, Labour, Libdums. You have shown why we must get shot of every single one of you. Your boys have taken one hell of a beating, and hopefully it's only the start.

I know you think this is a great victory for Sturgeon, but the vast majority of folk are not as informed or as arsed as yourself, and I doubt the effects will be very dramatic at all. It wasn't as if the coming elections were going to deliver anything but a resounding SNP victory whatever happened.

Once again you misread the situation. It was a resounding victory. It exposed the lengths and depths of misinformation and bias that is thrown against us. It failed. They failed. We were always going to be the majority, this shambolic failed coup I hope will increase that victory. Every single age group apart from the old, are in favour of Indy. Our 16 -24 group, the future of our country has over 70% in favour. I won't be counting any chickens, but I am confident the Tories and Labour will pay a price. I hope it's massive. I think it will be and in six weeks I will return to this with you to see who called it.

Labour will pay the price. Scottish Independence will give the Tories 30 years of unopposed rule.

I'm not arguing about the forthcoming election result - Scotland is already effectively a one party state, you are describing the difference between a 4-0 and a 6-0 score in football terms.

I don’t know. It isn’t too many years since I voted Scottish Tory foolishly believing that was the way to stay in the EU. They have shown what they are in the last few years. Lying bastards. I suspect many more have seen what I have seen and will vote for independence.

It's not a one party state. Again you are listening to media pricks trying to deny our right to vote who we want. Nobody has been forced to vote for them. We choose to. Please see that for what it is and not what the right wing want to delude you into believing. Do you think we are fucking stupid? We have rejected the Tories for 70 years. We now are rejecting Labour because both offer us nothing that we see as fundamental to creating a fairer country. That's not our fault. That's theirs. We see through their lies. I am proud of us for that.

Hardly a 1 party state, they don't have a majority, they can't even pass the budget with support from other parties.

I'm not saying anyone is forcing anyone to do anything. Nobody was voting for any other party in significant numbers anyway (why I said one party state), so an increase in the SNP majority is of no real significance is all I'm saying.
