Reports = agent of ings tells skysorts to get more interest= more £
The original story was written by a United-supporting SKY reporter based in the South of England with good contacts with the agent of Ings. It's a fake story to drum up interest because Ings is in a contract wrangle and Southampton want rid of him. City will be happy to leave the story out there as a smokescreen. We have plenty of previous for doing this in recent seasons.

i would have gambled early season when we had injuries to both jesus and aguero but not now
we want a young world class striker that will give us 10 years

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we went for a cheaper option of Haaland or Kane, rather than fork out £100m+ for someone

Why would we save money to invest elsewhere when this is the exact (and possibly only) position that absolutely needs the investment
I guess my point is that if you have lots of different options you are less likely to get rinsed by an agent than if you just have the one player and you go balls deep.

We do have a space for a top draw goal scorer but we have done pretty well without one this year. If you make the agent think that you can easily live without their star man then you are more likely to get a deal you can live with.

I'm sorry but I find your opinion pretty complacent/arrogant. Mancini's City overturned what was it, an 8 point gap in 6 games? Stranger things have happened.
Not happening and the rags don't have the 6 pointer like we did, 3 wins will be more than enough.

The problem is would we get the Ings of Liverpool who couldn't hack it at a top club.

If he could keep his Saints form and sit on the bench for half a season to be primarily used as a focal point if we need a goal, then fine.

Don't really see it given his injury record and his record at the last big 6 club he was at.

Possibly, but Pep has had any number of opportunities to use him, but hasn't. Which suggests to me he doesn't think he's ready yet.
I agree that Delap is not ready yet but I can't understand why we would consider someone like Ings who has a terrible injury record and virtually no experience of playing football at a European level.

Let this thread die. I’m hoping a reporter writes a story on us being interested in Adama Traore (which would be just as credible as claiming we want Ings) so we can have something different to tall about in the international break lol

Only reason I can think of this potentially being an option is a back up or rotation to Jesus and the potentially incoming Messi. With the intention to Hold out for Haaland summer 2022... short term cheap fix with lower wages. Not completely adverse but definitely not my of an augero replacement.
Haaland the sooner the better he’s not going to hang around at Dortmund for another season,I still think he’ll go to bayern imo

This is the same move talk like 'Sterling to Arsenal'. Bullshit probably stirred up by an agent and a willing and idle journalist.
