Because the way they framed it at the time they tried to hang us out to dry, maybe they should’ve presented the causes and reasons why it went up and presented that first before saying oh you should’ve saved more when in fact getting as many out as they did was superhuman effort.

Were they even in power when it was built and wasn’t it even illegal back then?

Personally I’m blaming the cowboys who built the fucking thing. Not any government who wouldn’t look at individual buildings so closely.

Because when the report into this enquiry is written it will matter not one bit who gave evidence first, last or 23rd. Who gave evidence first in the McPherson enquiry? Who gave evidence second in the Ladbroke Grove rail enquiry? Who gave evidence last for the Hutton Report?

Construction began in 1972 and it was completed in 1974. Edward Heath was PM from 1970-74.

Although the offending cladding was only added as part of renovations in 2015-16.

There isn't any point blaming individual politicians or central government who played no direct part in this specific tragedy. However it would be right to direct blame at politicians for general failures in regards to weak building control/fire safety legislation and a lax attitude to regulation if it is shown that these issues were highlighted by earlier incidents but the recommendations of reports were not implemented.
 
As soon as an incident is followed up by an inquiry rather than a criminal investigation, you can be sure it's going to last a long time and blame will be thinly spread everywhere with no one ultimately found responsible.
 
So a totally inadequate amount of money is set aside to replace the cladding in buildings over 18 metres.
Anyone with cladding issues in a smaller building can take out a cheap loan!
Nothing at all for the inflammable insulation problems, the lack of structural fire breaks or the inflammable balconies.
There you are on your own.

It is an absolute disgrace from the government, lots of leaseholders will be bankrupt as a result of this.

Unfortunately the property developers who decided to build using the cheap materials are Tory donors and as aresult avoid any responsibility for footing the cost. F*cking cowboys!

The govt PR machine has said they have removed dangerous cladding free of charge but hasn't replaced with safe cladding.
 
As stated before I vote Conservative, I mention this before some jump down my throat :-)
Today Parliament had the chance to stop developers charging home owners for the cost of replacing the dangerous cladding. Labour backed the bill but not enough Tories would vote with them.
The fact that 4? years on people are unable to sell their property and are forced to live in unsafe buildings is a national disgrace. The fact that Conservative mps have now made them liable for the repairs is even worse. Shame on you

It is fucking disgusting that people have been left in the lurch with unsafe buildings through no fault of their own.

Has anything happened to the company that said these panels were safe yet?
