What kind of comment is this? Flat out prejudice? I don’t work in sports or in the UK, if that’s what you’re assuming and therefore drawing irresponsible conclusions
It was tongue in cheek, take it how you wish though.

I am a little troubled and puzzled as to how anyone can really believe that Pep would approach Txiki and tell him “we don’t need to give Aguero a new contract and by the way, also no need for a new striker! We are a football club with the ambition of winning every trophy we play, but I can do this with only one striker on my squad, one who isn’t particularly clinical, because I have fallen in love with an improvisation in the form of false 9, which my own history proves can become quickly predictable and exposed. I’ll take this gamble, Txiki! Just trust me!” This would be extremely creepy and cult-ish. We are not a Cult lol. We wouldn’t let hundreds of millions of investments in the squad go down the drain because of an order by the dear leader. The fact people can consider this possibility for even a second is so bizarre to me

I don't belive for one second we go into next season with only Jesus as a striker. I also don't believe Rascal would say what he has if its not information that's genuinely been passed onto him.
Time will tell.
That’s why I gave him the benefit of the doubt of not having understood what was supposedly said to him

I think the information passed on by Rascal is likely incorrect. I've no doubt it's been posted in good faith though.

Rascal is a long-standing poster on here, whose genuine love for the Club should never be in doubt. He’s a character, but he’s a proper City fan who has unquestionably demonstrated over the years he has his Club’s best interests at heart.

He’s not a wind up merchant, and isn’t going to come on the Transfer Forum playing childish games just to mess with people’s heads.

I believe if he’s posting info on here, it’s because he thinks it’s genuine.

Doesn’t mean it’s right - and I find the concept of letting Aguero go without a replacement as implausible as anyone - but I absolutely believe he’s posting in good faith.

Sounds like a ‘false’ post:)

Enjoy the ride blues but if Haaland,Jack,Messi don’t sign I want heads to roll:)

On the foden thing of playing false 9 i could see some truth in it. Look at Fodens numbers resembles a similar persons numbers when pep arrived for them at barcelona, before that said person was moved to the false 9 position now im not saying phil will put numbers up like Messi. But maybe Pep has seen something to think Foden could score a hatfull of goals in that position. Foden has the same flare and dribble ability.

Messi at 20 - Goals 16 Assists 16 in all competitions in 40 games
Foden at 20 - Goals 11 Assists 9 in all competitions this season so far (hes not far behind with less minutes)

Also remember tha fact Pep called Foden the best talent he has seen as a coach.

I only bring this up in response as iv been talking to a barca fan that has watched Messi from breaking into the side and he even says there are simalarities he said so many have been compared to Messi but Phil looks like 20 year old Messi the way he dribbles and passes players.

Messi's numbers blew up when he was put in that postion the false 9, Im not saying Fodens numbers will blow up but if he has the same skill and quality on the ball then why not atleast try him. Foden got man of the match against Real Madrid at False 9 when Pep tried him there.

As U21 player, yes. Unfortunately he turns 19 in June, it means he wouldn't qualify as a club-trained/homegrown player after turning 21. Correct me if I'm wrong
I think you’re right, but still for the next couple years he wouldn’t have to be registered so that’s not bad

Its not my argument, i have made no argument, i am simply relaying what I was told by a man who in my opinion is more likely to know than anybody else apart from Ferran,Tkiki and Khaldoon.

I will say no more in future.

Such a downer on things that. Just as I was feeling positive about finally getting a proper statement signing that would see us sorted up front for years.

Fucking couldn’t stand it if Haaland ends up at rag or Chelsea and we continue to need about 25 attempts for one goal.

Can definitely understood the hesitation with Haaland as he is nothing like any striker we have had since Dzeko but Pep has proven he will change things if required and ultimately Txiki/City have to look out for the team for when Pep leaves.

Completely agree re the integrity of the original poster @Rascal and whilst many of us are excited by the prospect of Haarland et al there is no denying the effectiveness of not playing with a recognised striker - it takes our fluidity and positional interchange to a whole new level. The media were dismayed and in ore of the Dutch 'total football' of the 1970's but Pep has taken that to a whole new level (although the media now see the concept as boring!) and it would seem a bit odd for Pep to revert back when he is clearly onto something that provides limitless flexibility in tactics (and squad rotation) and is incredibly difficult to set up against because it is infinitely unpredictable. Signing Haarland as exciting as it is is (maybe) the antipathy of the road Pep has us on just now.... in many ways the signing of Messi and Grealish make an awful lot more logic. But what the fuck do I know?

This would suggest that you were told by Pep himself? Juanma ... is that you? ;-)

Per above posts from others I have no doubt about your authenticity btw Rascal, appreciate it's a good faith post. Even if it proves incorrect it's what makes the transfer forum fun so don't be put off.
